Omdia: Honor ranked first in China's foldable smartphone market with a 28% market share in Q3 2023

According to recent news, the smartphone market monitoring report released by market research organization Omdia shows that in the third quarter of this year, Honor won the first place in China's foldable smartphone market with a market share of 28%.

Data shows that in the third quarter, shipments of foldable phones in China exceeded 1.7 million units, with Honor ranking first with a market share of 28%, a 17-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

Among them, Honor Magic V2 has become the number one product in China's foldable screen mobile phone market with a market share of 25%.

Omdia said that the Chinese foldable phone market is still growing rapidly, but as a new form of smartphone, the research and development and design of foldable phones have very high requirements for technological innovation.

In general, it is a big challenge for manufacturers to make products extremely light, thin and low-cost while ensuring product stability.

The new folding product Magic V2, released by Honor in mid-July, has been highly recognized by the market for its extremely light and thin size parameters, which has also enabled it to exceed 800,000 units in sales in just over 4 months.

Following closely behind Honor is Huawei, which ranks second with a market share of 26%. If we simply add them together, the market share of the two companies reaches 54%, accounting for half of the domestic folding screen market.

The agency finally stated that with the gradual upgrading of product experience of Chinese brands and the expansion of international markets, the share of Chinese manufacturers in the global folding screen market will also increase rapidly in the future.
