According to the latest report from RUNTO Technology, in August 2023, the sales volume of China's smart tablet online market was 1.002 million units, a year-on-year increase of 18.5% and a month-on-month increase of 10.6% ; sales revenue was 3.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.7% and a month-on-month increase of 11.7%.

Analysts believe that the increase in new products from mainstream brands, coupled with renewal promotions before the start of the school year, are the main reasons for the increase in market sales in August.

The top four brands in China's smart tablet market are relatively stable. According to online monitoring data from RUNTO Technology, the combined share (CR4) of the top four brands, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor, was 67.4% in August.

In terms of screen technology, according to online monitoring data from RUNTO Technology, LCD product sales accounted for more than 90% in August. OLED product sales accounted for only 1.7% in August, down 4.6 percentage points from the same period last year. The high average price of products, the small number of brands, and the lack of marketing efforts in the past are the main reasons for the long-term tepid popularity of OLED.

Recently, Huawei's MatePad Pro 13.2, the industry's first flexible OLED tablet, has attracted widespread attention from consumers.

Liu Qian, an analyst at RUNTO Technology, believes that Huawei is ahead of Apple in its layout of flexible OLED IT products. In addition to strengthening its brand influence in the domestic market, it is also expected to drive the further development of OLED technology in the smart tablet market.
