The report said that Samsung originally planned to produce 310 million smartphones this year, but now decided to cut it to 280 million units. The report pointed out that the global environment is facing severe challenges and Samsung has to take production cuts. At the same time, Apple has also cut its smartphone production in 2022. It is reported that Apple will cut iPhone SE production by 20%.

Judging from the Q1 data this year, the global smartphone market has experienced varying degrees of decline. According to the 2022Q1 Global Smartphone Market Report released by Canalys, in the first quarter of 2022, global smartphone shipments reached 311.2 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 11%.

Among them, Samsung regained its leading position after updating its 2022 product portfolio, with shipments of 73.7 million units, down 4% from a year ago. Apple combined high demand for the iPhone 13 series with the new iPhone SE to achieve solid growth of 8% and shipments of 56.5 million units.

Analysts said: "Uncertainty in the global market looms, and the smartphone industry was dragged down by an unstable business environment in the first quarter, with traditional seasonal demand weak.
