Will it itch down there when I’m pregnant?

The female reproductive system is much more sensitive than other parts of the body because the skin and mucous membranes of the reproductive system are relatively thin and easily affected by external irritation. The most typical symptom is unbearable itching in the vagina, which is unbearable for most women. This kind of itching occurs frequently and seriously damages women’s healthy life. Let’s take a look at whether it will itch down there during pregnancy?

If you experience vaginal itching in early pregnancy, you may be suffering from vaginitis. Vaginal itching is not a normal pregnancy reaction. It is recommended to clean the vulva with light salt water every day, change shoes frequently, wash underwear, scald them with boiling water and expose them to the sun for sterilization.

How to solve the itching below during pregnancy

Use boiled water to wash (you can also add salt or baking soda to the water) and wipe it clean with a special towel. Wash underwear with special underwear soap, wash separately, iron in boiling water after washing, and dry in the sun. However, the prerequisite for sleeping naked is that the bedding is clean. Make sure to dry the bedding regularly every week and clean the pillow regularly.

Since this situation occurs during pregnancy, it can only be treated conservatively with medications available to pregnant women to improve and control the condition with the goal of not affecting the normal delivery of the child.

Pregnant women are prone to candidal vaginitis, but they must be very careful when taking medication during pregnancy. For this gynecological inflammation, you can follow the doctor's advice to clean the vulva and vagina with sodium bicarbonate solution and insert nystatin suppositories into the vagina. Azoles are prohibited. If you have candidal vaginitis during pregnancy and have obvious symptoms, you should take medication as prescribed by your doctor, otherwise it is easy to cause uterine infection, leading to miscarriage or premature birth. It is recommended that you do not use any medications during pregnancy, pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, and have regular prenatal checkups, as this may easily lead to miscarriage. At the same time, apply topical clotrimazole ointment to the vulva.

Vulvar itching during pregnancy is often manifested as persistent or paroxysmal itching. It often occurs in the vagina, on the outside of the labia majora, mons pubis, clitoris, labia minora, and perineum, and can spread to the vicinity of the anus. It is a type of localized pruritus. The itching is often unbearable, often occurring at night. Long-term itching can cause ulceration, redness, swelling or secondary infection. Due to long-term scratching, local infiltration, hypertrophy and pigmentation may occur.
