Why does my vulva itch during my seventh month of pregnancy?

Pregnant women are prone to physical problems that have a great impact on their lives, especially the symptoms of vulvar itching, which can make women unbearable and very uncomfortable at work or study. This situation is mostly caused by diseases in the vulva area, so women need to pay great attention to it. Let’s take a look at what causes vulvar itching during seven months of pregnancy? I hope everyone can understand.

Vulvar itching during pregnancy is a disease that is related to local factors. Leucorrhea irritation and vaginal bacterial infection are common causes.

reason:

Vulvar itching during pregnancy is mostly related to local factors, and leucorrhea irritation and vaginal bacterial infection are common causes. During pregnancy, the estrogen level in the body is high, and the entire pelvic cavity is congested, which causes a large increase in cervical and vaginal secretions, resulting in an increase in leucorrhea; the sweat glands and sebaceous glands in the perineum secrete more, if you do not pay attention to local cleaning, do not change underwear frequently, etc., it may irritate the perineum and cause vulvar itching.

Vaginal yeast infection is another common cause of vulvar itching during pregnancy. Mold can parasitize in the mouth and intestines and grow easily in an acidic environment. After pregnancy, the increase in estrogen increases the glycogen content in the vaginal epithelial cells. The lactic acid formed by the decomposition of glycogen by vaginal bacteria increases, resulting in increased vaginal acidity, which is conducive to the reproduction of fungi and the formation of candidal vaginitis, which can cause increased leucorrhea, congestion of the vaginal wall, edema and vulvar itching.

In addition to the two common causes above, vulvar itching may also be part of systemic itching. When a pregnant woman has intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, elevated bilirubin can cause systemic itching, of which vulvar itching is only a part.

treat:

1. First of all, you should pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva. Do not use soap to wash the vulva. Keep the vulva clean and dry. Try to avoid scratching and rubbing the affected area. Do not wash it with hot water and avoid using soap.

2. Eliminate local or systemic factors that cause vulvar itching during pregnancy. If there is a spouse, treatment should be provided at the same time to avoid cross infection and recurrent illness. Antipruritic drugs must not be abused and treatment should be under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Strengthen nutrition, eat more high-protein, high-vitamin foods, and avoid irritating foods such as spicy food and alcohol.

4. Avoid mental tension, irritability, and control emotional changes. Underwear should be soft and loose, and mainly made of silk or cotton.
