IDC: Global tablet shipments to reach 169 million units in 2021, up 3.2% year-on-year

According to statistics provided by market research firm IDC, a total of 169 million tablets were shipped worldwide in 2021, an increase of 3.2% over the previous year. Among them, Apple is still the world's number one tablet device supplier, while Huawei ranks fifth.

As can be seen from the list, Apple still sits firmly on the TOP1 throne. In 2021, it sold a total of 57.8 million iPads, equivalent to the sum of the second and third place, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year, and its market share increased to 34.2%.

Samsung ranked second, with a total of 30.9 million units sold in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%, and a market share of 18.3%. There are also two domestic manufacturers on the list, Lenovo ranked third and Huawei ranked fifth. Lenovo sold 17.77 million units in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 19.2%, with a market share of 10.5%. In 2021, Huawei's sales fell by 32%, with a total of 9.7 million MatePads sold, with a market share of 5.7%.
