Qimai Research Institute: Top App Rankings in April 2021

Recently, Qimai Data released the popular application rankings for April, including the application download list and the application revenue list.

In the popular app download list in April , "Pinduoduo" topped the list with an estimated download volume of 8.9 million + ; "WeChat" dropped one place compared to the previous month and ranked second in the App Store's free app list; the editing app "Jianying" rose four places to third place .

From the developer perspective, apps from Alibaba and Tencent take the lead, with 5 apps on the list respectively. Most of the apps from Alibaba are shopping apps, while apps from Tencent are mainly in the social category. Among the types of apps on the list, photography and video are the most numerous, with 7 apps on the list respectively; shopping apps are the second most numerous, with 5 apps on the list.

In the popular app revenue list , the rankings of the top five apps remained unchanged compared to March, namely "TikTok" , "Tencent Video" , " iQiyi ", " QQ Music " and "Youku ". Among them, "TikTok " continued to lead the revenue list with an estimated revenue of over 57 million .

In the April popular app revenue list, there are two new game apps, namely " Huya Live" and " AiLiao ". In terms of the types of apps on the list, most of them are entertainment and social apps, with 8 entertainment apps and 7 social apps on the list.

In terms of the manufacturers of the apps on the list, Tencent's apps are still the dominant force and continue to lead the app revenue rankings, with a total of 8 apps on the list.

In the app download list, photography and video applications account for the largest number, accounting for 23% . Among them, "ToonMe" and "Xingtu" are new applications with a rapid momentum . The top 5 app revenue list in April still maintains the pattern of the previous two months. The money-making ability of " TikTok ", " QQ Music " and "iQiyi" has not been shaken by other applications for the time being.
