Apple Insider: Less than 1% of rejected developers file an appeal with the App Store

At a recent court hearing, Trystan Kosmynka, who is responsible for the Apple App Store application review process, disclosed the details of their work. First, most rejected apps are not attractive enough, and usually these developers will give up. Second, if someone really appeals, they can get strong support in most cases.

Apple Insider points out that Trystan Kosmynka mainly talked about the mistakes that can happen during the app review process. But among these mistakes, less than 1% of rejected developers actually file an appeal.

But if developers insist on appealing, their claims can be strongly supported. Trystan Kosmynka added: "I think the number of errors is only a small part of the effectiveness of the entire app review process."

It is reported that Apple introduced new rules in June 2020 that allow developers to appeal app reviews more easily. However, the improvement at that time was mainly driven by Baecamp's complaints about the controversy surrounding Hey, a popular email app he developed.

Apple initially approved Hey's app update because the email app's early experience was free, but after introducing a paid subscription option, Apple said it violated the App Store's in-app purchase policy and removed it.
