Sino: 2018 China Smartphone Data Report

The research institute Sinovation released its 2018 China smartphone data report. The report shows that in 2018, Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi and vivo achieved year-on-year sales growth, while OPPO and Apple , Samsung, Meizu and other mobile phone brands have shown varying degrees of decline.

Throughout 2018, China's overall smartphone market capacity continued to decline.

In terms of overall sales, OPPO ranked first with sales of 76.37 million units, but fell 6% year-on-year; vivo ranked second with sales of 74.64 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3%; Huawei and Honor ranked third and fourth with 64.90 million and 54.27 million units, respectively, and achieved double-digit year-on-year growth of 29% and 13%; Apple ranked fifth with 52.7 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 5%; Xiaomi increased by 7% year-on-year and ranked sixth with 47.96 million units.

From the overall sales trend, Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi and vivo achieved year-on-year sales growth, while OPPO and Apple saw a slight decline, and Meizu, Samsung and Gionee saw a year-on-year decline of more than double digits.

In terms of sales, Apple still ranks first due to the high pricing of its products, followed by Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Honor and Xiaomi.

In the Internet mobile phone market, Honor still surpassed Xiaomi and Meizu with sales of 54.27 million units and sales of 78.29 billion yuan, and remained the number one Internet mobile phone.

In the offline market, OPPO and vivo ranked first and second with their traditional advantages, followed by Huawei, Apple and Honor. It is worth noting that Honor's offline market sales in 2018 reached 30.56 million units, far exceeding Xiaomi's 25.35 million units.

In addition, this also means that Xiaomi's offline market sales accounted for more than 50% in 2018. However, as Huawei, Honor and vivo also achieved rapid growth, Xiaomi's overall sales ranking in the country has not yet climbed upward. Lei Jun's goal of returning to the top of the domestic market within ten quarters is also facing tremendous pressure.
