A woman often plays with her mobile phone, causing her fingers to get "stuck" and unable to move. Be careful of tenosynovitis!

China Science and Technology News Network, December 2 (Xu Mingyang) According to Shaanxi TV News, recently, 49-year-old Aunt Li from Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, had repeated pain in the middle finger of her left hand for more than two months. Sometimes when she woke up in the morning, her middle finger could neither be straightened nor bent, as if it was "stuck". Aunt Li revealed that she usually does housework and recently needs to rely on her mobile phone to work. After a long time, the clicking sound of her fingers has become more obvious, and a hard lump the size of a rice grain can be felt at the joint of the middle finger of her left hand. The doctor considered that Aunt Li had tenosynovitis of the flexor tendon of the middle finger. After treatment, Aunt Li's symptoms such as pain in the middle finger have basically disappeared.

Tenosynovitis is an acute and chronic inflammatory reaction of the tendon sheath. When the tendon sheath and tendon rub excessively, the tendon sheath tissue may swell or even inflammatory reaction, manifested as limited joint movement, local pain, tenderness and other symptoms. People of all ages are at risk of tenosynovitis, middle-aged and elderly workers are at greater risk of tenosynovitis, and women are more likely to suffer from tenosynovitis than men. With the popularization of electronic devices, tenosynovitis is also more common among young people.

Tenosynovitis can be divided into several types: finger flexor tendon tenosynovitis, radial styloid stenosing tenosynovitis, and biceps long head tenosynovitis.

Finger flexor tendon tenosynovitis is also called trigger finger or snapping finger. It is more common in women and manual laborers. It can occur in any finger, but is more common in the thumb, middle finger, and ring finger. The lesion involves the finger joints, and in severe cases the joints cannot be straightened or flexed.

Radial styloid stenosing tenosynovitis is closely related to thumb movement. It is more common in women over 40 years old. Breastfeeding women may also suffer from this disease. The ratio of women to men suffering from this disease is about 6:1, and the lesions involve the wrist joints.

Tenosynovitis of the long head of the biceps brachii is common in people over 40 years old. It is more common in people who have shoulder trauma, excessive activity or are susceptible to cold. Its symptoms mainly include shoulder pain and limited joint movement.

To prevent tenosynovitis, you can try the following methods: when doing housework, try to use warm water to wash items, pay attention to the allocation of time, avoid excessive movement of fingers and wrists, and lift heavy objects less; pay attention to the correct posture when working, try to keep your wrists in contact with objects instead of hanging in the air; choose a mobile phone of appropriate size. If the phone is relatively large, it is best to hold the phone with both hands.
