China Science and Technology News Network, December 1 (Xu Mingyang) According to CCTV News, data from the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention shows that more than 3,000 new cases of young students are reported each year. As of the end of October 2021, data released by the National Health Commission showed that there were 1.14 million reported cases of HIV infection in China, and the overall HIV epidemic in China was under control at a low prevalence level. In 1988, the World Health Organization designated December 1 as World AIDS Day and called on countries and international organizations to hold related activities to promote knowledge about AIDS. After the establishment of World AIDS Day, there is a promotional theme on this day every year, and related activities are carried out around this theme. The theme of this year's World AIDS Day is "Fight AIDS Together, Share Health", which is intended to call on everyone to participate, know AIDS and prevent AIDS, and deepen the understanding of AIDS. AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It is an infectious disease caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The HIV virus can destroy a large number of CD4T lymphocytes in the human immune system, and the mortality rate is high. HIV can be transmitted through three ways: sexual transmission, blood transmission, and mother-to-child transmission. AIDS usually goes through three stages: acute infection stage, asymptomatic HIV infection stage and AIDS stage. The main symptoms of the acute infection period are relatively mild. Most infected people will experience symptoms of colds and flu during this period, such as fever, sore throat, joint pain, fatigue, etc., and will return to normal after about 2 to 3 weeks. The asymptomatic HIV infection period is the incubation period, which usually lasts 8 to 10 years. Most patients will not show obvious symptoms during this period, but a small number of patients will experience symptoms such as susceptibility to colds, fatigue, oral mucosal ulcers, and superficial lymph node enlargement. Patients in the AIDS stage will experience symptoms such as anorexia, diarrhea, dyspnea, oral erosions, herpes zoster, swollen lymph nodes throughout the body, fever above 38°C for more than 1 month, weight loss of more than 10% in about 3 months, and various infections. The best time to block is within 2 hours of high-risk behavior, with a success rate of over 99%. After that, although the success rate will decrease, it is still relatively high within 72 hours, which is called the golden 72 hours. Blocking drugs need to be taken for 28 days and followed up. In addition, mosquito bites, coughing, etc. will not spread HIV, and the virus will not be spread through dining utensils, swimming pools, toilet seats, etc. Therefore, hugging, eating, sharing office supplies, etc. with AIDS patients will not infect them with HIV. |
