Social networks are the information hub for Vietnamese people and an indispensable tool for brands and service providers. This survey aims to understand the Vietnamese people's use of social as a source of brand information and connection. Smartphones are the main device for accessing social networks, accounting for 98%, while tablets account for 57% and desktop computers account for 42%. 48% of them use Instagram, and 83% follow Instagram’s new updates. 66% of users use Instagram to receive updates on new products or services, 58% use it to receive promotional or event information, 51% use it because they just like the platform, and some users use it because they like Instagram posts or because their favorite celebrities also use Instagram. 65% of users use Zalo to receive updates on new products or services; 61% use it to receive promotional or event information; and 42% find Zalo’s posts good. 89% of users use Facebook Chat, followed by Zalo and 45% for chat services embedded on websites. 51% of online shopping users prefer to consult directly through chat, 42% use mobile phones to communicate, and 15% consult through SMS.
