Canalys: Samsung accounts for 20% of China's smartphone market in Q1 2013, ranking first

According to foreign media reports, according to the latest survey by market research firm Canalys, China has become one of the most important markets in the smartphone industry, and Apple's mobile phone share ranks fifth in the Chinese market, while its old rival Samsung ranks first.

In the first quarter of 2013, iPhone accounted for 8% of the Chinese smartphone market, significantly behind Samsung, which further consolidated its leading position in the previous quarter, with its market share rising from 17.7% to 20%. Yulong Communications (its own brand Coolpad), Huawei, and Lenovo ranked second to fourth. Apple and Samsung are the only two foreign companies among the top ten Chinese smartphone brands, and Chinese local manufacturers account for about 68% of the market share.

It is reported that China is currently the world's largest smartphone market, with smartphone shipments reaching 82 million units in the first quarter, more than three times the size of the US market (27 million units shipped in the first quarter).
