What causes chest pain in a 15-year-old girl?

The body structure of girls is much more complicated than that of boys. In addition to the different urinary system structures, there are also great differences in the growth and development of breasts. As they get older, girls' breasts will begin to grow and develop, and they may experience some pain symptoms. So what are the reasons for chest pain in 15-year-old girls?

Most 15-year-old girls have already started their periods. If you suddenly experience chest pain, it may be due to premenstrual syndrome. Because before the menstrual period, the female hormones in the body will fluctuate to some extent, and the breasts will feel swollen and painful after being stimulated. If such symptoms only occur before the menstrual period, there is no need to worry, as it is a normal physiological phenomenon.

But if the chest pain persists and you can feel a lump when you touch your chest hard, it may be mastitis or mild hyperplasia. In this case, parents should take their children to the hospital for a chest ultrasound to avoid delaying the disease.

Common causes of chest pain include:

1. Sternum pain, including costochondritis, costal neuritis, muscle pain or stabbing pain due to pleural thickening.

2. It can also be common in lung diseases such as bronchitis, severe asthma, and lung infections can cause chest pain.

3. Pain in the left chest may be caused by digestive system diseases, such as stomach disease, gastric ulcer, liver and gallbladder disease, pancreatic problems, and may also manifest as chest pain.

4. If you are middle-aged or elderly, you may have coronary heart disease, angina pectoris or more serious myocardial infarction, which can cause chest pain.

Therefore, for a 15-year-old girl with chest pain, coronary heart disease can basically be ruled out. The most common causes include pleural thickening pain, costal neuritis or costochondritis or herpes zoster or lung disease.

However, there are many types of chest pain. Some girls do have breast pain, but some girls cannot tell whether it is chest pain or breast pain. Parents do not need to jump to conclusions, but must immediately ask a doctor to help make a diagnosis to prevent the cause from being a disease inside the chest cavity. Only after understanding the cause of the disease can targeted treatment be carried out.
