Opera: iOS platform accounted for 44.53% of mobile advertising revenue in Q1 2013

According to The Next Web, Opera released a report on mobile advertising today. The report data comes from Opera's own advertising network platform Opera Mediaworks. The platform is spread across 12,000 websites and applications, with 50 billion advertising impressions per month.

In the last quarter, the iOS platform accounted for 44.53% of the revenue brought by mobile systems to advertising publishers, up from 41.91% in the fourth quarter of last year. Android ranked second, reaching 31.26%, 0.32% higher than the fourth quarter of last year.

iPad is still the darling of advertisers, accounting for about 6% of ad impressions and 12% of revenue share on Opera's ad platform. From the perspective of mobile phones, Samsung Galaxy S3 also performed well, accounting for 11% of all Android traffic, an increase of 2% from the previous quarter. The launch of BlackBerry 10 also helped BlackBerry's traffic increase from 4.23% to 6.19%.

In addition, music, video and multimedia ads account for a large proportion in terms of quantity and revenue. People's consumption on these three types of mobile ads has increased, accounting for 29% of all advertising demand. Ads on commercial and financial websites are still the most valuable, generating the highest revenue per ad impression.

Opera Mediaworks CEO Mahi de Silva said mobile advertising will account for more than 10% of digital advertising this year, becoming a significant part of every major advertising campaign.
