Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association: Japan's mobile phone shipments in February 2013 were 2.311 million units

Data released by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association on the 16th showed that the domestic mobile phone shipments (including mobile phones and PHS) in Japan in February 2013 were 2.311 million units, a decrease of 2.3% from the same period last year, marking the 10th consecutive month of year-on-year decline.

Smartphone shipments reached 1.365 million units, accounting for 59.1% of the total mobile phone shipments, a significant increase of 26.3%. All mobile phone shipments reached 2.122 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 3.1%. PHS shipments reached 189,000 units, an increase of 7.6%, achieving positive growth for three consecutive months.
