Flurry: 2011 Mobile Developer Survey Report: Over 70% of Developers Support iOS Platform

A recent developer survey report by mobile analytics company Flurry on nearly 50,000 apps showed that the number of developers choosing the Android platform to develop new projects this year has dropped from 37% in the first quarter to 27% in the fourth quarter, while the proportion of developers supporting the iOS platform is still over 70%.

In addition, developers also reported that the profitability of the iOS platform is about three or four times that of the Android platform. Flurry analyzed the IAP sales data of the top iOS and Android apps, as well as the DAU of the apps, and found that, on average, for every $1 in revenue generated by iOS apps, Android apps only achieved $0.24.
