3. Blood donation process that “blood donation novices” need to know

Blood donation registration

Bring your valid ID card to register for blood donation. Fill out the "Blood Donor Informed Consent and Health Status Inquiry Form" under the guidance of medical staff. Those who fill out the form untruthfully shall be held responsible in accordance with relevant laws and regulations if the donated blood causes adverse consequences to the recipient.

Physical examination

According to the "Health Examination Requirements for Blood Donors", doctors will conduct general examinations on blood donors, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, body temperature, etc., in order to understand whether your current health condition is suitable for blood donation. For example, the director has a friend who was rejected for blood donation because his weight did not meet the standard.

Blood tests

The main blood tests before donating blood include blood typing, hemoglobin, hepatitis B virus surface antigen, and alanine aminotransferase. Component blood donors also need to have additional tests for platelet count and hematocrit.

· Cooperate with blood collection

Relax and lie on the blood collection chair to cooperate with the nurse in blood collection. After blood collection, follow the nurse's instructions to apply pressure to the blood collection needle hole to stop bleeding to prevent subcutaneous hematoma.

· Rest and get the certificate

You need to rest for 10-15 minutes after donating blood, and you can leave only when you feel no discomfort. In addition, don't forget to collect the free blood donation certificate! This is a small red book that symbolizes love and glory!
