What is Betaine?

Betaine is an alkaloid with the chemical name of 1-carboxyl-N,N,N-trimethylaminoethyl lactone. Its chemical structure is similar to that of amino acids and it belongs to the quaternary ammonium base class with the molecular formula of C5H11NO2. The raw powder is fluid and slightly brown. The melting point is 293°C. It is highly soluble in water and easily soluble in methanol. Betaine is widely found in animals and plants. In plants, wolfberry and legumes contain betaine. Beet molasses is the main source of betaine. In animals, mollusks such as octopus, cuttlefish, and shrimp, as well as the liver, spleen, and amniotic fluid of vertebrates (including humans) all contain betaine.

Betaine:

The scientific name of betaine is trimethylglycine, which is a white scaly or prismatic crystalline powder with a slight characteristic odor (sweetness). The chemical formula is, molecular weight 117.15, melting point 293℃ (decomposition), solubility (20℃) 160g/100G water. Betaine molecules have three effective methyl groups, are neutral, have a melting point of up to 200℃, are very soluble in water, easily soluble in methanol, soluble in ethanol, and difficult to dissolve in ether. After decomposition reaction with concentrated potassium hydroxide solution, trimethylamine can be generated, which is hygroscopic, very easy to deliquesce, and releases trimethylamine. High temperature resistant. It is easy to absorb moisture and deliquesce at room temperature, and has strong moisturizing properties.

What does betaine do?

1. Betaine, also known as betaine, is a cardiac glycoside and other steroid components. It is an alkaline chemical extracted from organisms.

2. It has certain effects on liver cirrhosis, liver lobular hyperplasia, alcoholic cirrhosis and fatty liver changes.

3. It has bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effects, and can remove oxygen free radicals in the blood, thus playing an anti-inflammatory and detoxifying role.

4. It has a mild antihypertensive effect and has a certain auxiliary medication effect for moderate or mild hypertension.

5. When used in combination with ascorbic acid, it has certain anti-tumor and tumor cell growth inhibition effects.

6. It can play a certain role in maintaining the osmotic pressure inside and outside the cells.

How to use betaine for fishing

1. The ratio of betaine and amino acids for carp fishing: 0.5% betaine and 15% amino acids (mainly arginine). The basic material is 30% fish feed, 15% flour, 10% drawing powder, 20% snowflake powder, 5% sugar and spices.

2. The method of using fish attractants for crucian carp bait is: betaine (mainly the ratio of sulfobetaine and amino acids) 10% sulfobetaine, 30% amino acids (mainly methionine and glutamic acid), 10% cooked corn flour, 15% silk powder, 10% white flour, 20% snowflake powder, 5% sugar and spices.
