Why are they called cookies?

Cookies, derived from the English word COOKIE (British pronunciation: 'kuki American pronunciation: 'kukɪ), is a Cantonese transliteration introduced from Hong Kong. Cookies are interpreted as small and flat cookie-like biscuits in the United States and Canada, and the English word COOKIE comes from the German word koekje, which means "small cookie". This word is mainly used in British English to distinguish American cookies such as "chocolate cookies". The first cookie made was composed of several pieces of small cookie dough. According to research, it was invented by Iranians. In the 1980s, cookies were introduced to China from Europe and the United States, and set off a craze in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and other places in the early 21st century, and then continued to become popular.
