Pay attention to the problem of high blood sugar during pregnancy

High blood sugar levels during pregnancy are very common. It has been reported that the global prevalence of high blood sugar levels among pregnant women over 20 years old is 15.8%. The average in my country is 17.5%.
High blood sugar during pregnancy is mostly caused by diabetes, but it also depends on the specific circumstances.
The first type is the easiest to understand, diabetes complicated by pregnancy, which means that diabetes existed before pregnancy, regardless of the type of diabetes, accounting for about 7.9% of hyperglycemia during pregnancy.
The second type is overt gestational diabetes, also known as diabetes during pregnancy, which means that the blood sugar level during pregnancy reaches the diagnostic cut-off point of common diabetes, accounting for about 8.5% of hyperglycemia during pregnancy.
The third most common type is gestational diabetes, which accounts for 83.6% of hyperglycemia during pregnancy. If fasting blood sugar during pregnancy is higher than 5.1mmol/l, it may be diabetes, so the diagnostic cut-off point is different.
For pregnant women, if they have diabetes before pregnancy, it is better to control it to the standard and be prepared before getting pregnant. For those who do not have diabetes during pregnancy but have a family history of diabetes, are obese or overweight before pregnancy, or gain too much weight during pregnancy, they should pay attention to screening for high blood sugar during pregnancy, diagnose in time, and intervene early to reduce the harm of high blood sugar.
