What is postpartum disease?

In the medical sense, postpartum disease refers to the disease that a woman suffers from due to failure to take good care of her body within a month or so after giving birth or having a miscarriage, which results in her being attacked by external factors. During the month after delivery, mothers are often very weak due to excessive blood loss and physical and mental exhaustion. During this time, if you catch a cold, worry too much, or have excessive sexual intercourse, you may suffer from postpartum disease.

Causes of postpartum disease

1. Pregnant women exert too much force, sweat too much, and lose too much blood during childbirth. These will lead to physical deficiency and deficiency of Qi and blood after delivery. If you are not careful in conditioning at this time, the Yin blood will be empty, the Yang Qi will be scattered, and you will suffer from postpartum diseases.

2. Postpartum Qi and blood are deficient, stagnant, and congested inside the body. After childbirth, all the meridians are empty, and the body is weak and prone to evil invasion. This is when wind and cold are most likely to take advantage of the opportunity to enter. When the cold wind invades, the blood will become cold and coagulate, causing qi and blood to stagnate in the body. If it stays in the body for too long, it will cause blood stasis, resulting in various diseases.

3. Improper diet after childbirth or injury caused by overwork. The body is depleted and very weak after childbirth, and needs to be adjusted through diet and rest. However, if the diet is improper, it will not only fail to have a nourishing effect, but will aggravate the symptoms of deficiency and weakness. Generally speaking, you need to stay in bed and rest more after giving birth. If you are tired or upset, it will leave a root of illness.

Symptoms of postpartum illness

Postpartum sickness will affect postpartum women for many years. The main symptoms of postpartum sickness are imbalance of yin and yang, and a decline in overall body function, accompanied by various symptoms of physical discomfort and illness.

1. The most common postpartum disease is backache and lumbago.

2. Women suffering from postpartum disease often feel tired in their daily life. The body's joints often feel numbness, pain, and swelling. Sometimes the joints have difficulty flexing and extending, and feel weak, which is especially uncomfortable when exposed to wind and cold.

3. After suffering from postpartum disease, you will often feel afraid of cold and wind. After encountering the wind, you will feel various discomforts, such as joint pain, headache, tears in the wind, etc. Women with postpartum sickness need to wear more clothes than normal people in winter to feel comfortable. Even in summer, their joints should not be exposed, and this symptom tends to worsen when exposed to wind.

4. After suffering from postpartum disease, symptoms of headache and dizziness will also accompany you. Women often suffer from dizziness and headaches that affect their sleep, causing them to become restless and irritable. In addition, postpartum illness can leave behind eye problems, such as frequent dry eyes, sore and painful eye sockets, and sometimes difficulty seeing objects clearly.
