First of all, it should be made clear that the progression of myopia is closely related to genetic and environmental factors. Wearing glasses of appropriate degree and qualified quality will not make myopia worse faster.

On the contrary, if you are diagnosed with myopia but do not correct it, you will squint, tilt your head, etc. in order to see clearly. Over time, this will not only cause visual fatigue, but also accelerate the development of myopia.

Secondly, as age increases, the eye axis will increase, and the degree of myopia will increase with age. Studies have shown that the growth rate of myopia will gradually slow down with age, and the progression of myopia will slow down over time until the degree of myopia stabilizes when the person is not very tall.

Therefore, the increase in myopia is not caused by wearing glasses. On the contrary, wearing suitable glasses can delay the increase in myopia.

With the eye test results, it is a personal choice to choose where to get glasses. However, we also want to remind everyone that some shopping platforms only require the prescription of both eyes to get glasses, which is really simple and crude.

Especially nowadays, many young people like to wear glasses with large frames, so the pupil distance should be considered when fitting glasses. Otherwise, once the optical center distance of the lens is greater than the pupil distance, it will cause visual fatigue to the wearer, affect vision correction, and even cause damage to the eyes.

In addition, online glasses fitting is different from that in hospitals and optical shops. You cannot try on glasses on the spot, and you cannot correct the frames, temples, nose pads, etc. based on trial feedback and face shape.

First of all, the "pathogenesis" of myopia and presbyopia is different -

Unlike myopia, presbyopia is caused by weak refractive power of the lens and difficulty in contracting the ciliary muscle, which is a phenomenon of aging of human body functions. Just like no one can control the growth of white hair on the head and wrinkles at the corners of the eyes, the eyes will gradually become "presbyopic" and cannot see nearby objects clearly.

Therefore, people with myopia will also have presbyopia one day. When the "presbyopia degree" is greater than the "myopia degree", not only can the degrees not be offset, but you even have to wear two pairs of glasses to feel a clear world!

First of all, there is no such term as "pseudomyopia" in ophthalmology. The reason for naming it this way is nothing more than to bring a little comfort to parents who are anxious about their children's myopia and to sell products.

A more appropriate term is "accommodative myopia", which is caused by the continuous contraction and spasm of the ciliary muscle, which increases the thickness of the lens. It manifests as blurred vision and falsely high degrees, and is more common in children and adolescents.

Different from the common "axial myopia" and "refractive myopia", the axial length and refractive power of accommodative myopia are within the normal range. As long as the glasses are rested and the eyes are used correctly, the vision can be restored.

If a child experiences significant changes in vision or blurred vision in a short period of time, he or she should go to the hospital for an eye test using the mydriasis method.

Don’t take your eyes to the optical shop for an eye test or glasses fitting, which will turn your “pseudomyopia” into “true myopia”. Don’t trust those merchants who promote various instruments and health products under the banner of “treating pseudomyopia”.

Scientific prevention when you are healthy and scientific treatment when you are myopic are the fundamental solutions.

First, let's feel the difference between "astigmatism" and "myopia"——

In simple terms, astigmatism means unclear images, while myopia means blurred images. So if you have both astigmatism and myopia, you must add the degree of astigmatism when fitting glasses, and don't just leave it alone.

In addition to congenital astigmatism, acquired corneal diseases, eye injuries, eye surgery and long-term improper use of the eyes, such as squinting, rubbing eyes, reading/playing with mobile phone while lying down, etc., can all cause astigmatism.

Generally, it can be corrected by wearing frames or contact lenses according to one's own eye conditions. After adulthood, it can also be corrected by laser surgery if the preoperative examination is qualified.

Astigmatism is the same as myopia. Once it occurs, it is irreversible. The best way to prevent it is to develop good eye habits, which saves money and worry!

If you have the following symptoms, you may need to go to the hospital to check whether you have eye mites:

Recurrent eyelid redness, itchy eyes, dry eyes, burning sensation, foreign body sensation, photophobia, and increased secretions, and in severe cases, repeated eyelash loss. When the inflammatory reaction involves the cornea, there may be blurred vision or decreased vision, and complications such as conjunctivitis and keratitis.

Use a cotton swab dipped in sterile saline or eye cleansing wipes to clean the base of the eyelashes to remove scales and scabs on the eyelid margin, twice a day.

For example, wet wipes and eye patches. Mites are in the hair follicles, and the effect of wet wipes is limited; the smell of eye patches can induce mites to crawl out of the hair follicles, thereby effectively killing them. Generally speaking, tea tree essential oil has better penetration, and the efficacy will be stronger after more than ten minutes.
