What virus infects cervical cancer?

In recent years, it has also been found that the cause of cervical cancer is related to some viruses transmitted through sexual intercourse, such as: blood human herpes virus type 2 (HSV2), because HSV2 antigen test is positive in 90% of patients with invasive cervical cancer; blood human papillomavirus (HPV), the examination of HPV-specific antigens in various cervical cancer tissues all indicate that the cause of cervical cancer is related to HPV infection; supplementary human rubella virus (CMV), it has been reported in various countries around the world that the CMV antibody titer of blood cells of patients with cervical precancerous lesions and intestinal metaplasia is high; clinical experiments have shown that CMV-DNA has the ability to transform into malignant changes. Therefore, viral infection has become one of the key research topics in the study of the cause of cervical cancer in recent years.

What virus infects cervical cancer?

At present, cervical cancer is the only cancer with a confirmed cause in clinical medicine. The occurrence of cervical cancer is related to human papillomavirus infection, commonly known as HPV virus infection. HPV viruses can be divided into high-risk and low-risk types, and persistent infection with high-risk HPV viruses may lead to cervical cancer. HPV high-risk types are divided into many different types, the most pathogenic are HPV16 and 18, which may cause more than 70% of cervical cancer. In addition, HPV31, 33, 52, 58, etc. may also cause cervical cancer. Therefore, once HPV virus infection occurs, we need to actively seek treatment. However, it does not mean that patients will definitely develop cervical cancer after being infected with HPV. Viral infection usually requires continuous infection and integration into target cells, causing changes in target cells, which may lead to cervical cancer.

Viral cervicitis is a common disease in women of childbearing age. If the body has a fever, there will often be clusters or single blisters around the mouth. This type of herpes simplex is caused by a virus. If this type of herpes simplex causes inflammation of the cervix, then this disease is called viral cervicitis. After the first infection with herpes virus, the virus will remain latent in the infected area and can be deposited in the dorsal taproot of nerve fibers for a long time, causing the disease to break out.

For human reproduction, the cervix also plays an important role: sperm must pass through this "copy" before they can enter the fallopian tubes and meet the egg. Therefore, once it shows symptoms, the probability of a woman becoming pregnant will be greatly reduced. According to clinical medical statistics, about 15% of female infertility problems are caused by the cervix. The typical symptom of cervicitis is excessive vaginal discharge. Due to different pathogens, inflammation range and degree, the secretions may be milky white mucus or light yellow pus, which will change the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina, which is not conducive to the survival and movement of sperm. Sperm cannot enter the cervical canal, thus causing infertility.

Viral cervicitis is often complicated with vaginitis, mostly because men with viral cervicitis are infected after sexual intercourse; it may also be indirectly infected. It takes 3 to 7 days for the virus to develop after infection. After the first infection, there is significant general discomfort, fatigue, low fever, headache, etc. During a gynecological examination, swelling and pain can be seen in the private parts, vagina, and cervix, and rashes or ulcers on the surface of the cervix. Generally, no scars are left after the diseased areas heal. The history of present illness can be up to 6 weeks. After the first infection with the herpes virus, the virus will remain latent in the affected area and deposited in the dorsal taproot of the nerve fiber for a long time until the next attack. If a second attack occurs, it is usually milder than the first.
