Borscht can be made with ordinary tomato sauce and tomato paste sold in supermarkets. Both tomato sauce and tomato paste are indispensable in borscht. Tomato sauce is a raw sauce that needs to be stir-fried to make the soup richer, while tomato paste is a cooked sauce to increase the flavor.

How to make delicious borscht

Main ingredients: 1 pound of beef, one cabbage, 1 potato, 2 carrots, and 2 tomatoes for soup.

Key ingredients: 1 large onion, 2 Chinese celery, 1 to 4 green peppers, 100 grams of tomato sauce.

Ingredients: ginger, cooking wine, salt, oil, light soy sauce (about 10 ml), and pepper.

Preparation method:

1. Cut the beef into pieces, add cooking wine, ginger and water (about 1200 ml), and simmer until 80% cooked.

2. Chop onion into shreds, dice celery, add oil and stir-fry until fragrant.

3. Add cabbage (cut into pieces), potatoes, carrots, tomatoes (all cut into small pieces) and green peppers (cut into small cubes), stir-fry together, and then add to the beef soup.

4. After the soup boils, simmer over low heat for 1 hour. Then add salt, tomato sauce, pepper, and light soy sauce, stir well, and simmer for another half an hour.
