Is there really "garbage" in the blood? Where will it stop and become a blood clot? The truth is not like this

A friend told Huazi that his mother would get acupuncture every day in spring and autumn in order to use drugs to remove the "garbage" in the blood vessels and avoid blood clots. Huazi has also seen similar videos, saying that blood clots in human blood vessels will flow around with the blood, just like a "time bomb", blocking wherever it stops, and it is necessary to use drugs regularly to remove those blood clots.

Huazi said that the knowledge of using drugs to remove "garbage" in blood vessels and "blood clots flowing everywhere" is all fake science. If you believe it, you will not only waste money, but also delay the normal treatment of the disease.

1. There is no "garbage" in our blood vessels. In many people's impressions, human blood vessels are similar to water pipes. After a long time of use, scale, foreign matter and other garbage will accumulate on the pipe wall. If there is too much garbage, it will block the blood vessels and cause myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction. As long as you use medicine to "clean" regularly, you can eliminate the garbage and prevent the occurrence of myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction.

This impression is not correct. The reason why blood vessels in the human body are blocked is not the same as the scale in the water pipes. Most of the blockages in human blood vessels are caused by atherosclerosis of the arteries, which forms hardened plaques. Atherosclerotic plaques grow in the endothelium of blood vessels and are lesions of the blood vessel walls, not external "garbage".

2. Atherosclerotic plaques are difficult to remove. The formation of atherosclerotic plaques is related to damage to the vascular endothelium. The normal vascular endothelium is dense and smooth, but under factors such as high blood pressure, high blood lipids, high blood sugar, smoking, and obesity, it will cause damage to the vascular endothelium. At this time, the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the blood will enter the vascular endothelium from the damaged area.

LDL-C that enters the vascular endothelium will be oxidized and produce inflammatory stimulation, which will cause macrophages in the human body to engulf it. Macrophages that engulf too much LDL-C cannot be completely digested and will eventually die and be deposited in the endothelium. Many foam cells gather together to form the lipid core of the hardened plaque.

If you cut open a hardened plaque, you will see many yellowish particles, just like millet porridge, so it is called atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is in the endothelium of the blood vessels. If you don't destroy the endothelium, you can't take out the hardened plaque. No medicine can eliminate the plaque in the endothelium of the blood vessels. So, once atherosclerosis is formed, it cannot be removed.

Plaques that can be removed through surgery are limited to large arteries such as the carotid artery, which are relatively thick and close to the body surface. Other small and medium-sized arteries are not suitable for surgery. Therefore, most atherosclerotic plaques in blood vessels cannot be removed.

3. Treatment of atherosclerotic plaques is to "reinforce" them. Plaques grow very slowly. If they want to cause blood vessel blockage by their own growth, it usually takes decades. The risk of atherosclerotic plaques is mainly instability. The fibrous cap covering the surface of the plaque is easy to rupture when the blood vessel contracts violently or spasms. If rupture occurs, it will induce platelet aggregation and form a thrombus. This is the most common cause of myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction.

Therefore, the treatment of atherosclerotic plaques is not to eliminate the plaques with drugs, but to "reinforce" the plaques and prevent them from rupturing. The drugs used are statins, which can lower cholesterol levels, slow the growth of plaques, improve the metabolism of the arterial lining, and have anti-oxidation and anti-inflammatory reactions, thereby increasing the density of plaques and reducing their size, making them more stable and less likely to rupture, and reducing the probability of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

To sum up, there is no "garbage" in the human blood vessels. The main cause of blood vessel blockage is atherosclerosis. There is no drug that can directly remove atherosclerotic plaques. The best way to treat it is to use statins to strengthen the plaques and prevent them from rupturing. So don't believe the rumors. There is no need to buy and use drugs that claim to "remove blood vessel garbage" or "dissolve blood clots." Drugs can only be used safely under the guidance of a regular doctor.
