Doctor: Men around 45 years old must check these three physical examination items

In everyone's life, father plays a great role as steady as a mountain. When we were young, father gave us an infinite sense of security. We never thought that one day, father would grow old and his majestic body would become hunched...

It's not just my father. Everyone will face such a situation and will slowly age, even if they were tall and strong when they were young. As the saying goes, "After forty, people are past noon." After forty, just like the sun past noon, the physical condition gradually declines.

For the sake of our father and ourselves, we'd better plan ahead. As a doctor, I want to say: for middle-aged men over 40, a correct physical examination package is the best gift for men over 40!

Low-dose spiral CT scan of the chest shows that lung cancer is the most common cancer in the world. It is the type of cancer with the highest incidence and the highest number of deaths. There are many causes of lung cancer, among which it has been confirmed that smoking has a definite correlation with squamous cell lung cancer. In other words, smoking can lead to the occurrence of squamous cell lung cancer.

According to the national tobacco control survey report released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, there are more than 300 million smokers in China, accounting for about 30% of the total population, of which more than 90% are male smokers.

Smoking 20 cigarettes a day for 20 years will increase your chances of developing lung cancer 20 times that of a normal person. Many smokers insist on having a health checkup every year, but some still find that their cancer is in the late stage and lose the best chance for treatment. Why is this? The reason is that they choose the wrong examination method.

Early screening for lung cancer should choose low-dose spiral CT of the chest, rather than the chest X-ray or chest fluoroscopy of the past. The resolution of chest X-ray or chest fluoroscopy is low, and early lung cancer cannot be discovered in time. In addition, early lung cancer has no obvious symptoms, so many people take it lightly. This is the reason why those who insist on annual health checks find lung cancer in the late stage.

Low-dose spiral CT of the chest can detect lung nodules of several millimeters. Even early lung cancer can be completely removed through surgery without affecting the patient's survival cycle. Therefore, take your father to have a chest CT scan on Father's Day, especially if he has a history of smoking.

Prostate ultrasound and PSA test: As my father gets older, he gets up more often at night and goes to the toilet more frequently. Many people think this is a normal sign of aging, but in fact it is the prostate that is "making trouble." Although the prostate will proliferate more or less with age, excessive proliferation is abnormal.

At any age, difficulty urinating is abnormal, and the most common cause is prostate hyperplasia. Prostate hyperplasia is a benign disease. Mild hyperplasia has almost no symptoms. As the hyperplasia worsens, symptoms such as frequent urination, increased waking up at night, waiting to urinate, and difficulty urinating gradually appear. At this time, a prostate B test is done. If you have prostate hyperplasia, early treatment can achieve very good treatment results.

In addition to prostate hyperplasia, the incidence of prostate cancer is increasing year by year. Since there are no specific symptoms in the early stage of this disease, many people treat it as prostate hyperplasia. Over time, they begin to experience weight loss and body bone pain. At this time, distant metastasis has occurred and the best time for treatment has been lost.

With the development of PSA (prostate specific antigen) testing, more and more early prostate cancers are being discovered. Because of timely detection, many early prostate cancer patients have achieved a long survival period. It is worth noting that both prostate ultrasound and PSA testing are painless, so Chinese experts recommend that men over 50 years old be tested at least once every two years. For patients with a family history of cancer, it is recommended to be tested once a year.

Colonoscopy is essential. The incidence of colorectal cancer is increasing year by year, which is closely related to the improvement of living standards and changes in eating habits. In the past, 55 years old was the peak age for colorectal cancer, but now the incidence of colorectal cancer is being advanced, and a large number of patients aged 40-45 are diagnosed with colorectal cancer. It can be said that the younger age of colorectal cancer is an indisputable fact.

As living standards continue to improve, Chinese people consume more and more meat, and as they age, they exercise less and less. These are the reasons for the increased incidence of colorectal cancer.

Although colorectal cancer is dangerous, it is recognized as the most easily detected and preventable cancer. The occurrence of colorectal cancer requires a long process, from normal mucosa to polyps, from polyps to adenoma hyperplasia, and from adenoma hyperplasia to cancer. This process takes about 10 to 30 years. As long as a colonoscopy is done in time during this process to detect suspicious lesions and block them as soon as possible, the final tragedy can be avoided. Therefore, it is very important to take your father to have a colonoscopy on Father's Day, especially for those who have blood in the stool, abdominal distension, indigestion, changes in bowel movement time, bowel movement frequency, and stool shape.
