Can the automatic transmission brake be adjusted up and down? What is the reason for the car brake to become higher?

The accelerator and brake are the two most important pedals in driving a car, especially in emergency braking, stepping on the brake can avoid accidents as soon as possible. In order to distinguish between the brake and the accelerator, their heights are different, and it is not easy to make mistakes in an emergency. So can the brake be adjusted up and down?

Can the automatic brake be adjusted up and down?

It can be lowered, but not as low as the accelerator pedal!

The brake pedal has a certain height for driving comfort. Often when braking, you will feel like you are stepping on empty air at the beginning. The lower you press it, the more effective it is. There can be a buffer period so that you don't have to step on the brake all at once!

Moreover, the manufacturer designed it this way so that you can place your foot on the accelerator and move it horizontally to distinguish the brake pedal. If they are adjusted to the same height, it will be easier to make mistakes in a hurry, and there are many such accidents!

Why does the car brake become higher?

If it gets higher, it should be heavier and harder. It feels like you need to step on it with more force and the brakes can't stop. This is mostly due to vacuum leakage. If there is a vacuum leak, check whether the pipe from the vacuum booster to the intake manifold (the intake manifold is usually used for vacuum pumping in vans) is broken. If so, replace it.

Also check whether the one-way valve in the middle of the pipe is damaged. If there are no problems with these, then the problem is with the vacuum booster. Just replace the booster.

Another possibility is that the master cylinder is stuck, but if one or two are stuck it will not cause the brakes to be too high or too heavy, and it is almost impossible for all four to be stuck. If they are stuck, it will generally drag the brakes. You can lift the wheel up, step on the brake, and then turn the wheel by hand. If it can turn, it is normal.

In very rare cases, the problem may be caused by a broken master brake cylinder.

The car brakes feel a little soft, what's going on?

The brake pedal feels soft, which actually means that the braking force feedback is slow after pressing the brake pedal, and the braking effect is not good. There are generally three reasons.

One is that the neutral coasting time is too long. Neutral coasting is usually a long downhill, and the speed is only about 700 when coasting. After intermittent use of the brakes, the brake pump pressure is insufficient, and insufficient braking will occur when you want to stop. Neutral coasting of current electronic fuel injection vehicles does not save fuel and is also very dangerous;

Second, if the brakes are used continuously for a long time, the brake temperature will be too high. If the brake pad temperature is too high, the friction coefficient will drop rapidly, which will also cause insufficient braking, and sometimes there will be no braking;

Third, if the engine is turned off and the brake pump does not work, there is no brake. When encountering a long downhill, make full use of the engine for braking, switch to the appropriate gear, and work the engine and brake at the same time. Trucks should also be careful not to overload. If the overload exceeds the vehicle limit, there is no way to brake in an emergency; and the brakes should be inspected frequently and the worn brake pads should be replaced in time. Also, do not exceed the speed limit.

Mercedes-Benz's new GLA PHEV

Equipped with EQ POWER system to enrich the new energy product series.

It is expected that the PHEV model will not have much difference in appearance and interior design compared with the fuel version. For reference, the body proportions of the new GLA have changed significantly compared with the current model. Compared with the current model, the height of the new GLA has increased by 104mm, the width has increased by 30mm, and the length has been slightly shortened. The wider and taller but shorter body proportions make it more compact and more SUV-like visually. In addition, the 30mm increase in wheelbase also makes the new GLA look more slender and stable.
