The placement of router antennas generally follows one principle: place them as staggered (cross-placed) as possible, with each antenna pointing in a different direction, rather than pointing all antennas in the same direction.

If all antennas point in the same direction, the WiFi signal coverage area will be smaller and there will be signal dead spots.

Try to place it in the center. A general principle is to place it in the center as close to the main usage area as possible. WiFi signals are mainly transmitted directly, and will not detour when encountering obstacles. If they cannot penetrate, they will be blocked.

What should I pay attention to when placing the router antenna?

Keep away from metal obstructions. Try not to place it in a metal box on the roof. Metal is impenetrable. Therefore, only wired routers can be placed in a metal-shell weak-current box, not wireless routers. If conditions require it, you should also choose a product with an external antenna, and drill a hole in the weak-current box to lead the antenna out and expose it to the outside.

Can the router be placed next to the bed?

Don't get too close to yourself. Although the radiation has little impact, it should be avoided if possible.

Try to use as few walls as possible. Nowadays, the load-bearing walls of houses are mostly reinforced concrete, especially in high-rise buildings. The steel bars in the walls are interlaced into a network, forming an electromagnetic shielding network. Therefore, the signal will be attenuated by more than half after a load-bearing wall, and generally cannot penetrate two walls.
