What should I do if the leaves of jasmine are dry and easy to fall off? Why do jasmine leaves fall off when touched?

Jasmine flowers are pure white, fragrant, and have green leaves. They can not only be used to decorate our lives, but can also be made into jasmine tea for drinking. It can be said to be a beautiful and practical flower. The leaves are normal in color, but dry and fall off when touched. Why is this?

What to do if jasmine leaves dry up and fall off easily

Cold.

As winter gets colder, move the outdoor jasmine indoors in time. The most suitable temperature for jasmine to grow is 23℃. When the temperature is below 5℃, it is difficult to maintain normal growth. Perhaps overnight, the green leaves will become brittle and dry due to the cold, and will fall off at the touch.

Solution: 1. Move it indoors and place it in a cool place where the temperature is not too high. You can place it in the corridor or a heated garage. If only one of the branches and leaves is dry, wait for three to five days, cut off the dry branches, and try to keep two or three buds. Then move it into a warm room and maintain it normally.

2. Prune, cut off the dried branches and keep the new leaves. When the entire branch is dry, leave two or three pairs of leaves above the base and cut them all off. Place it in a cool place and water it once a week. Then move it into a heated room, place it in the sun, and start growing again.

Drought and water shortage.

When jasmine lacks water, the new buds have less water content and are the first to wither. The old leaves begin to wilt due to lack of water. If the lack of water continues, they will become dry and fall off at the touch. The most obvious thing is that the leaves at the bottom lose their luster, become wrinkled, dry, and droop.

Solution: The first step is to move the flower pot to a cool place immediately and keep it out of the sun.

The second step is watering. Water at the same temperature as room temperature. It is best to water at noon in the north in winter, and do not water in a hurry.

The first time you water, moisten the flowerpot with some water and spray a small amount of water on the flower branches. Let the flower branch cells slowly absorb the water until the receptacle seeps out. Then water it two or three times, and each time do not exceed the usual amount, until it is thoroughly watered. Let the potted flowers slowly recover.

The third step is pruning. It is the same as pruning for freezing. The principle is to cut off the dry branches and leaves, keep the tender leaves, and try to keep two or three pairs of leaves.

Pests.

Aphid disease occurs. The leaves curl up and dry up. If you look closely, you will see small white dots on the leaves, which are the bodies of aphids. It is not easy to find them on the back of the leaves when they first occur.

The solution is to put the potted flowers under the tap in the summer, which can not only clean the leaves but also wash away the insects. Then spray diluted laundry water. Put about 10 grams of laundry detergent in a 500ML plastic bottle of water.

Why do jasmine leaves fall off when touched?

Normal leaf drop

The color of jasmine leaves is normal, that is, it is still green, but the leaves are dry. This should be the normal dormancy of jasmine during its growth process, and then it withers and sheds its leaves, just like the leaves of plants fall in autumn.

Jasmine leaves falling due to improper watering

Although jasmine likes a humid environment, if you water it too much, causing water to accumulate in the flowerpot, it will cause root rot. Once root rot occurs, the jasmine will begin to drop leaves.

Too much fertilizer causes jasmine leaves to fall off

Jasmine has a long flowering period and requires a lot of nutrients during the growth period. If the nutrients are insufficient, the jasmine will not bloom. However, if too much fertilizer is applied, it will cause the roots of the jasmine to burn. If the roots are burned, the jasmine will also lose leaves.

What to do if jasmine leaves fall off when touched

1. After the jasmine flower goes dormant, when you prune it, check whether the branches that have dropped leaves are dry and black. If they are dry and black, it means that they are dead branches and diseased branches, and they need to be cut off. If the branches are still green, it means that the leaves have fallen during the dormant period. Just prune it slightly, and the jasmine flower will grow leaves and bloom again next year.

2. If the jasmine is experiencing severe leaf drop due to water accumulation, then it is considered that the jasmine has root rot. In this case, the jasmine needs to be dried and placed in a well-ventilated environment.

If it still doesn't work, it is because of long-term waterlogging, which has caused the soil to be less breathable. In this case, you need to change the soil for the jasmine. When changing the soil, you need to trim the roots of the jasmine, and then use loose, humus-rich, well-drained, slightly acidic soil for planting.

If you water too little, it will cause jasmine to lose leaves. This is caused by drought. In this case, you need to water the jasmine appropriately and then return to normal growth levels.

3. If the jasmine leaves fall due to too much fertilizer, we can water the jasmine thoroughly after the soil is dry to neutralize the fertilizer. This can reduce the damage caused by fertilizer. If too much fertilizer is applied and watering alone cannot neutralize it, then you need to change the soil for the jasmine.

When fertilizing jasmine flowers after changing the soil, be sure to apply thin fertilizers frequently. Generally, apply thin water-soluble fertilizers once every 15 days. This way, the jasmine flowers can grow well and will no longer drop leaves.
