According to foreign media reports, Business Insider Intelligence, the market research division of the US technology blog Business Insider, released a research report on Tuesday saying that after years of decline, Microsoft's share of the US smartphone operating system market has finally stopped falling and rebounded.

Business Insider Intelligence cited data from comScore, an Internet traffic monitoring agency, saying that at the beginning of 2010, Microsoft's share of the US mobile operating system market was 15.7%. However, due to the rise of Apple's iOS and Google's Android, Microsoft's market share has been declining. ComScore data shows that although Microsoft's share of the US mobile operating system market was only 4% in April this year, it has increased by 0.1 percentage points from 3.9% at the end of January this year. This means that after launching Windows Phone and abandoning Windows Mobile, Microsoft's share in the mobile operating system market has finally stopped falling and rebounded.

However, judging from the current situation, it is too early to predict that Windows Phone's market share will continue to grow. Nokia launched its flagship smartphone Lumia 900 to US users in April this year. The launch of this product has boosted Microsoft's market share in the US mobile operating system, but the sales of Lumia 900 in the US market are still bleak.

In addition, Microsoft also announced that Windows Phone 7 phones, including Lumia 900, cannot be upgraded to Windows Phone 8. Consumers are currently reluctant to buy Windows Phone phones because they know that Windows Phone 7 will be eliminated from the market by the end of this year.

This is not all bad for Windows Phone. The next generation of Windows Phone will be equipped with the same core technology as the Windows 8 desktop operating system, which will help application developers develop applications for the Windows Phone 8 operating system and improve the content ecosystem of Windows Phone. However, before the release of the Windows Phone 8 operating system, the market share of the Windows Phone operating system may still decline.
