What are the items in the first prenatal check-up

5. Thyroid, if you haven't done it before pregnancy, you should do it this time. But this is at your own expense, and some community hospitals may not be able to do it.

6. NT examination, measurement of the thickness of the fetal nuchal translucency, which is usually not available in community hospitals and needs to be done in large hospitals. This examination is also very important. Generally, a result less than 3mm is normal. If it exceeds 3mm, the probability of Down syndrome may increase, and further fetal malformation examination is needed in the later stage.

1. Have a good rest the night before

Make sure to get a good rest the night before the prenatal check-up and avoid overwork and staying up late, because not only do you have to get up early the next day, but you also have to wait in line in the hospital for a long time, which is very physically demanding.

2. Fasting

These blood tests require blood draw on an empty stomach, so pregnant mothers should be on an empty stomach in the morning and not eat breakfast or drink water.

3. Bring some snacks

The mother can prepare some snacks in her bag in advance, such as milk and biscuits, so that in case she becomes exhausted after waiting for a long time, she can eat something to replenish her energy after having her blood drawn.

4. Wearing should be convenient

The basic advantage of wearing clothes during prenatal check-ups is that they are loose and easy to put on and take off. Wearing clothes that fit properly can not only save time, but also avoid the tension caused by the inconvenience of putting on and taking off.

5. List the questions you want to ask in advance
