What causes knee pain during pregnancy?

In our daily lives, we often feel some pain. The elders in my family often say that when we feel pain, it is our body that is warning us that we need to pay attention to our health. Until the pain is gone, it is a problem. Well, I believe that everyone should also look back at the pain in our body. Today, let’s talk about knee pain during pregnancy.

1. Fat pad muscle strain fat

The fat pad fills the space in front of the kneecap, which helps stabilize the joint and reduce friction. The cause of fat pad muscle strain may be trauma or long-term friction causing fat pad hematoma, hypertrophy and inflammation, adhesion with patellar ligament, thereby restricting kneecap movement. This type of injury often occurs in people over 30 who often hike, climb or do high-leg exercises. The patient will feel knee pain, which worsens when the knee is fully straightened, but the joint movement is not restricted and the symptoms become obvious after fatigue.

2. Synovitis

Synovitis is a common injury for athletes. When the lower limbs are weight-bearing, the feet are fixed, and the kneecap is slightly bent, if the knee is suddenly internally rotated or externally extended too much (such as in tennis, when the player suddenly turns around and dives to save the ball while defending), it may cause a meniscus tear. Synovitis can cause a noticeable tearing sensation in the legs, followed by joint pain, limited mobility, and difficulty walking uphill. The joints mainly show a feeling of swelling and slipping, and there is a popping sound when the joints move.

3. Traumatic synovitis of the knee

The synovium is one of the key structures that make up the kneecap. Synovial cells secrete synovial fluid, which can maintain the smoothness of the joint cartilage surface and increase the range of joint movement. Due to factors such as trauma or excessive muscle strain, the synovium is damaged, which will cause a large amount of blood accumulation and increase the pressure in the joint. If it is not cleared in time, it will easily cause joint adhesion and affect normal activities. The patient will feel pain, swelling, and tenderness in the knee joint, and a very astringent friction sound from the synovial membrane.

In fact, the pain that expectant mothers endure during pregnancy is far more than this. Therefore, mothers who carry the babies for ten months and give birth in one day are all the greatest mothers. During the pregnancy, as a young expectant mother in today's society. We must promptly grasp enough experience to avoid any safety risks that affect the healthy growth of children.
