What to do if there are too many aloe vera plants in the pot? How to divide and repot aloe vera

Aloe vera is a very common green plant with strong growth ability. In addition to separating new aloe leaves every day, sometimes small aloe vera will grow. If the small aloe vera grows too much, it will affect the large aloe vera and other small aloe vera, that is, the pot will be overgrown. In this case, the aloe vera needs to be divided into different pots.

What to do if there are too many aloe vera plants

It is common for aloe vera to overflow the pot. Plants with strong vitality like aloe vera are very easy to grow, and side buds can easily grow from the roots. The side buds grow rapidly, which then leads to the situation of aloe vera overflowing the pot. Therefore, aloe vera should be transplanted and divided into different pots.

First, take the aloe vera that has grown out of the pot out of the pot, remove the soil at the roots, and then find the newly grown side buds. You can identify the side buds at a glance and gently break them off. Remember not to destroy the integrity of the root system.

Then put the side buds that have been broken off from the aloe vera plant in a cool place to cool. Because aloe vera itself contains a lot of water, a transparent liquid will flow out of the wounds where the buds split. The transparent liquid in the wounds should be allowed to dry so that the wounds will not be infected when planted, causing the plant to become sick and die.

Plant the side buds of aloe vera in a flowerpot and choose a suitable pot according to the size of the aloe vera. Aloe vera likes loose and breathable humus soil, so you can use humus soil or ash soil to grow aloe vera.

After planting, the plant should be moved to a cool place for maintenance. After the first rooting watering, wait until the soil is dry before continuing to water. Normally, the newly planted aloe vera will grow new roots in about a week.

How to branch and transplant aloe vera

1. Seedlings out of pots

Since seedlings are relatively fragile and have underdeveloped root systems, care must be taken to protect their roots from damage when they are removed from pots. An intact root system can reduce the time required for the plant to recover and is also beneficial to the young plants in adapting to the pot as quickly as possible.

2. Choose a flower pot

Generally speaking, the standard for choosing a flower pot is the size of the potted plant. Generally, the size of the flower pot should be 1-2 cm larger than the overall crown width of the plant. It is not the case that the bigger the flower pot, the better. There is an old saying among the people that "small pots grow flowers well, and large pots kill flowers", because for small flowers, there is too much water in the large pot that cannot be absorbed by the roots in time. In addition, various reasons such as weather and soil permeability and drainage can easily cause water accumulation in the pot, resulting in the risk of root rot.

3. Planting matters

The unearthed young plants must be carefully checked to see if the root system is strong and intact. Flower lovers who have the conditions can soak the roots in a disinfectant solution such as potassium permanganate for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes. The soaked roots can effectively kill the pathogens attached to the roots, allowing the young plants to develop and grow better.

4. Initial maintenance matters

After the planted aloe vera plant is planted, place it in a cool and ventilated place at home to allow it to grow slowly. After the plant is fully adapted to the pot, place it in a bright and ventilated place at home for maintenance. You can check whether the plant is adapted to the pot by hand. If the roots are deeply rooted in the soil, the whole plant will be relatively firm.

Does aloe vera bloom?

Of course it will bloom.

Aloe vera belongs to a large family, and the most common aloe vera belongs to the genus Aloe in the Asphalaceae family.

The main colors of aloe vera grown in daily life are red and yellow. The flowers are spike-shaped, that is, there are long small flowers on a pistil, and some are umbrella-shaped.

Different flower colors indicate that the variety series are different. There are also some less common ones that also belong to the aloe series. Rare varieties are also more precious.

Their flowers always look unique among other flowers. However, aloe vera is basically a very hardy variety, super drought-resistant, heat-resistant, not cold-resistant, and prone to frostbite when it is below zero degrees.

Another thing to note is that not all aloe vera is edible. If you are not sure about the specific variety, it is best not to take the common aloe vera internally.
