The best time to check for female infertility

The best time to check for female infertility

Living in modern society, we have to face many kinds of health threats. The most painful disease for women is infertility. Infertility means that we cannot become a mother, which is very regrettable for women, and infertility for men is also a dignity issue. So for infertile people, what is the best time for infertility examination?

Ovarian and cervical examination: This examination should be done on the second or third day of the menstrual period, because the bleeding during this period will not fluctuate too much when checking hormones. It can clearly determine problems such as ovarian aging, chronic anovulation, and polycystic ovary symptoms.

Fallopian tube photography: Fallopian tube photography should be performed three to seven days after menstruation, because it evaluates whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed by injecting contrast agent into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. This test cannot be performed during the ovulation period to avoid ectopic pregnancy. It also cannot be performed during menstruation because menstrual blood during this period will block the previously unobstructed fallopian tubes and cause a misdiagnosis of the test.

Ovarian disease index test: It can be checked during non-menstrual period. Avoiding the menstrual period may cause misdiagnosis. Because most blood tests for ovarian disease index during menstruation will show false positives and be too high, it will cause patients to be nervous and worry that they have an incurable disease. Therefore, it is better for women to choose to check during the non-menstrual period.

Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy: It is best to perform them three to seven days after menstruation. This period is chosen mainly to avoid ectopic pregnancy in women.

Prolactin test: It is better to check in the morning. Excessive prolactin in women will interfere with normal ovulation and menstrual cycle. At the same time, prolactin is higher at night, so it is recommended to check in the morning.

The best time to check for female infertility

You must grasp the best time to do infertility examination to avoid missing the best opportunity for examination. Generally, if women's prolactin is too high, it will interfere with normal ovulation and menstrual cycle. Since prolactin levels rise physiologically in the evening, especially at night, it is recommended to check in the morning for better accuracy.

Infertility examination requires fallopian tube photography, which is the most common examination to evaluate the patency of women's fallopian tubes by injecting contrast agent into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. Therefore, you must not check during ovulation, as this will push the fertilized egg to the end of the fallopian tube or the abdominal cavity, causing ectopic pregnancy; you must not check during menstruation, as menstrual blood may block the originally unobstructed fallopian tube and cause a misdiagnosis. Therefore, the best time to check is within three to seven days after the end of menstruation.

In infertility examinations, hysteroscopy must be filled with water to expand the uterine cavity to facilitate examination, while laparoscopy injects contrast agent into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes to determine whether the fallopian tubes are blocked. Both may flush the embryo away and cause an ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, the best time to check is within three to seven days after the end of menstruation.

Generally, blood tests for hormones are done on the second or third day of the menstrual period. At this time, the hormone levels in women’s bodies will not fluctuate too much, so problems such as ovarian aging, chronic anovulation, and polycystic ovary syndrome can be clearly determined.

If you choose to draw blood during menstruation to check the ovarian tumor index (Ca125), most of the results will be false positives and too high, which will make patients worry in vain and think that they have an incurable disease. Therefore, it is recommended to check during the non-menstrual period.

For infertility tests, male semen tests generally only require a short period of abstinence for three to seven days. The collected semen is placed in a test box and handed over to the technician within an hour. The result will be known within half an hour.

Here, I want to tell those infertile people not to give up hope. After all, infertility is very harmful to women, not only physically but also mentally. For men, it is also a matter of dignity. However, during this period, don't worry too much, keep yourself in a good mood, and let nature take its course.
