How high is prolactin and will cause miscarriage?

Pregnancy is a happy thing, but what expectant mothers should worry about most is fetal arrest. Fetal arrest means that the fetus has stopped growing and developing, which is more serious. Not only the physical and mental health of the expectant mother are also damaged. So, how high is the level of prolactin that will cause miscarriage? First of all, excessive milk secretion causes fetal arrest, and excessive lactogen causes infertility. The increase of lactone can significantly inhibit the normal secretion of pituitary gonadotropins (such as follicle-stimulating hormone and progesterone), affecting the normal development of eggs, ovulation function and reproduction function.

Reduced secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone will directly lead to uterine development disorders in the uterus and ovaries, weak or incomplete development (B-ultrasound observation can show eggs with a diameter of less than 18mm or smaller), and ultimately inability to get pregnant; insufficient secretion of estrogen (progesterone) will lead to imperfect corpus luteum function, which cannot support the fertilized egg to continue embryo implantation and development (such as measuring the body temperature during ovulation, it will show a low temperature phase below 36.8℃), making it difficult to get pregnant, and even if pregnancy occurs, miscarriage is very likely to occur.

In addition, excessive secretion of lactone will cause the uterus and ovaries to lose the necessary response ability to gonadotropin, and the production of estrogen and estrogen will be significantly reduced, causing the estrogen that plays a key role in the pregnancy process to show low levels, directly affecting the reproductive function. When the amount of estrogen drops to a certain level, the patient will also experience many symptoms similar to menopause.

What should I pay attention to when prolactin is high?

1. People with high prolactin should pay attention to diet and exercise: eat more vegetables and fruits, eat more high-protein foods, and exercise moderately. In addition, your daily life should be regular, you don't have to stay up late for a long time, and you should pay attention to rest.

2. If your prolactin level is high, you should pay attention to taking medicine: Long-term use of reserpine, chlorpromazine, sedatives and other drugs can inhibit the release of prolactin inhibitory factors by changing the production, absorption and metabolism of dopamine, resulting in excessive secretion of prolactin and causing amenorrhea and galactorrhea. Therefore, patients with high prolactin must pay attention to taking medication.

3. People with high prolactin levels should be careful not to take birth control pills: because birth control pills can increase the secretion of lactogens and reduce gonadotropins secreted by the pituitary gland, resulting in amenorrhea and galactorrhea. This is why some people who take birth control pills cannot get pregnant immediately.

4. Pay attention to pituitary tumors if prolactin is high: In some patients, high prolactin is caused by pituitary tumors. This is because the tumor is composed of cells that metabolize lactone. These cells are in an uncontrolled state and metabolize lactone excessively. Infertility can also cause an increase in lactone due to factors such as stress on the pituitary stalk.

5. If prolactin is high, you should pay attention to some symptoms: primary hyperthyroidism, refractory amenorrhea and galactorrhea syndrome, hyperactivity of primary thyroid cysts, renal insufficiency, bronchial cancer and other diseases can also cause increased prolactin.
