The steps and costs of frozen embryo transfer

When fresh test tube transplantation fails, frozen embryo transplantation is required; in addition, many couples who want to have a second child can also recall frozen embryos for another transplant. There is not much difference between the process of frozen embryo transfer and fresh IVF transfer.

The whole process of freezing embryos:

1. Advance preparation of the uterine wall.

The preparation of the uterine wall and the growth and development of the test tube embryo, as well as the synchronization of the uterine wall, are the key criteria for the success of pregnancy after fused embryo transfer. The main methods of uterine wall preparation are: natural cycle method and hormone replacement method.

(1) Natural cycle method: For women with regular menstruation and normal ovulation period, transplantation should be carried out during the ovulation period. Before transplantation, a series of tests such as B-ultrasound examination and blood test for endocrine function should be performed.

(2) Hormone replacement method: Women with irregular menstrual cycles and ovulation disorders need to use drugs to promote the growth of the uterine wall. Only after the shape and development of the endometrium reaches a certain requirement can they regenerate and transplant test tube embryos.

2. Thaw the test tube embryos. Thaw the frozen test tube embryos. If any test tube embryos are damaged during the thawing process, they will be discarded. When selecting test tube embryos, the consistency of the blastomeres of the frozen-thawed test tube embryos and the ability of the cells to further disintegrate are the main considerations. When transplanting, try to select test tube embryos with intact blastomeres and those that can be further disintegrated.

3. Transplant test tube embryos. On the day of transplantation, 3 test tube embryos will be thawed first. If the number of surviving test tube embryos is less than 3, they will be thawed again until there are 3 surviving test tube embryos available for transplantation.

4. Injection of corpus luteum copper. Although frozen embryo transfer can be performed at an appropriate time, since the test tube embryo is not fertilized in the woman's body, the woman's body is not fully synchronized with the test tube embryo, and insufficient lutein copper is produced for the fertilized egg to implant and develop, so artificial intake of lutein copper is required. The injection dosage can be as little as possible compared to fresh test tube transplantation. Most doctors will use 4b250g/day of corpus luteum copper injection, but doctors will also adjust the dosage according to the patient's individual condition.

5. Confirm pregnancy. Generally, if you do not have your period two weeks after the transplant, you can go to the hospital to check whether you are pregnant. After a successful pregnancy, it is necessary to continue taking progesterone to maintain the pregnancy and perform an ultrasound test two weeks later.

Cost of frozen embryos

The actual cost of frozen embryos is not certain. It varies according to the level of the hospital and the city where it is located. The cost of frozen embryos ranges from 6,000 to 8,000 yuan, and the cost of storing frozen embryos is generally around 50 to 200 yuan per month.

Frozen embryo transfer is a very important technology in in vitro fertilization. The selected in vitro fertilization hospital must have in vitro fertilization embryo freezing and thawing technology. During the thawing process of frozen embryos, if the IVF hospital's technology is not advanced enough, more IVF embryos may be damaged than in hospitals with more experience, leading to the death of many little lives. Therefore, you must carefully choose an IVF hospital and choose an authoritative, reliable and trustworthy IVF hospital.
