Menstrual black slag picture

What is the reason for gray-black discharge on the first day of menstruation? From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, it may be caused by stagnation of Qi and blood. Menstruation is the regular shedding of the uterine wall accompanied by bleeding, which occurs about once a month. Many people call it "menstruation." Women will have various problems during menstruation, such as menstrual pain, dark menstrual blood, etc. If you want to go through the menstrual period safely, you need to take more care of your health. So what is the reason why blood is gray-black during menstruation?

Menstrual blood color refers to the color of menstrual blood. Normal menstruation is dark red, and the blood is stained with small fragments of uterine wall, cervical mucus, and squamous epithelial cells in the vagina, but no blood clots. If the menstrual flow is thin and watery, with only a little light pink or turning black or purple, it is abnormal. Generally speaking, there are three reasons why blood turns black during menstruation:

1. Black menstruation due to kidney deficiency

The menstrual cycle is irregular, the amount is small, the color is light red or dark red, and the texture is thin. Back pain, weak legs, heel pain, tinnitus, dizziness, or cold lower abdomen, or frequent urination at night. The tongue is pale and the pulse is weak or slow. Treatment is suitable for tonifying the kidney, strengthening yang and regulating menstruation.

2. Black menstruation due to deficiency of Qi and blood

The menstrual cycle is early or late, the menstrual volume increases or decreases, the menstrual period is long, the color is light, and the quality is thin. Or there may be pain in the lower abdomen, dizziness, fatigue, pale or sallow complexion, poor appetite and watery stools. The tongue is light red and the pulse is deep and fine. Treatment should be aimed at replenishing qi and blood.

3. Black menstruation due to qi deficiency and blood stasis

The menstrual period is irregular, the amount of menstrual flow is more or less, the color is purple-red, and it comes in one lump, and the flow is not smooth. Or it may be accompanied by lower abdominal pain that is resistant to pressure, or distension and pain in the chest, flanks, breasts, and lower abdomen, abdominal distension and discomfort, dark purple tongue or with petechiae, greasy white or thin yellow tongue coating, and deep or wiry pulse. The treatment is suitable for promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, regulating qi and relieving pain.
