Can I have sex if I am phv16 positive?

HPV16 refers to the type of HPV virus. There are more than 100 types of HPV (human papillomavirus), and only a dozen of them can be identified as high-risk. All of these types can develop into cervical cancer. If the test is positive for HPV16, further testing is required. Can I still keep the baby if the HPV16 test is positive?

Can I still keep the baby if I test positive for HPV16?

If HPV16 has not been completely cured and you become pregnant, it will be very bad for the fetus. It is very likely that HPV16 will be transmitted to the fetus. Therefore, if you become pregnant without curing HPV16, it will not only harm the patient's own body, but also have a great impact on the health of the fetus. Therefore, for patients who are HPV16 positive, it is best to choose pregnancy only after they are treated and fully recovered.

Patients who test positive for HPV16 cannot get pregnant. If they do, it will not only harm the patient's own health, but because HPV is contagious, pregnancy may infect the fetus, which will also cause great harm to the normal healthy growth and development of the fetus. Therefore, if patients who test positive for HPV16 want to have a baby, they must first undergo complete treatment and then get pregnant after recovery.

What is HPV virus infection

HPV virus, or human papillomavirus, is a genus of papillomavirus A belonging to the family Papillomaviridae. It is a spherical DNA virus that can cause proliferation in the squamous epithelium of the skin and mucous membranes of the human body. This virus infection only harms humans and is not highly pathogenic to other small animals. After reliable and systematic treatment, the virus infection will be eliminated by the body. Persistent HPV infection is often associated with common warts, genital warts (condyloma acuminatum), cervical cancer, anal cancer, etc.

With the increase in the incidence of cervical cancer, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection has attracted more and more attention. As one of the basic screening methods for cervical cancer, HPV virus testing is very popular.

Unlike other tumors, cervical cancer is currently the only malignant tumor with an established cause, and persistent infection with high-risk HPV is the main risk source for cervical cancer. As early as 1976, German experts discovered the relationship between human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and cervical cancer. A large number of clinical studies have confirmed that more than 95% of cervical cancers are accompanied by high-risk HPV infection. This is also the reason why people are highly sensitive to HPV infection.

HPV virus infection is not as scary as the legend says. Professor Wu Qiang said that in fact most infections will disappear naturally after a certain period of time and will not cause changes in cervical cells or disease. If it is only a transient HPV infection and subsequent tests are all negative, there is no need to worry too much.

If there is a high-risk HPV infection, the doctor will generally perform a gynecological examination and a cervical TCT test. If the cervical TCT test is also abnormal, surgery or other treatment methods should be performed as soon as possible. If there is only a high-risk HPV infection, the TCT test is normal, and the cervical and adnexal tests are not abnormal, the HPV virus should be re-examined after 3-6 months to see if there are persistent abnormalities. Even if there are persistent abnormalities, if it can be treated promptly in the early stages, the occurrence of cervical cancer can be prevented.

For low-risk HPV virus infection, you should pay attention to changes in the skin and mucous membranes. If a routine physical examination reveals papules, nipple-like, cauliflower-like growths, or cockscomb-like fleshy growths in moist areas such as the sexual organs or around the anus, you should go to the relevant hospital outpatient clinic to receive reliable treatment for STDs.
