Reasons for experiencing nausea and vomiting during late pregnancy

Heartburn is the most common cause of nausea and vomiting during the third trimester of pregnancy, known as acid reflux or regurgitation. This usually occurs when a heart valve at the bottom of the esophagus releases pressure. The gastric juices then travel to your chest, causing a burning sensation or leading to a bad taste in your lips and an upset stomach.

Morning sickness is a very common problem in the first trimester of pregnancy, but it can sometimes occur in the third trimester as well. Fluctuations in hormones, increased internal pressure, and your baby's continued growth competing for space in your abdomen can cause that uncomfortable nausea you thought you had gotten over.

What to do if you experience nausea during late pregnancy

Eat five to six small meals a day instead of three large meals. Avoid eating these irritating foods that can irritate your stomach. Reduce caffeine intake. Eat your meals slowly and swallow what you eat carefully. Try to avoid lying down within an hour of eating.

Morning sickness isn't a problem unless it completely prevents you from eating and drinking. Hyperemesis gravidarum is a more serious form of morning sickness, affecting 1 to 3 percent of pregnant women and causing severe dehydration and malnutrition. Women with this condition have dietary problems that can lead to a 20% loss of pre-pregnancy weight. In these cases, intravenous fluids, medication, or other forms of nutritional support may be needed.

In the stage close to the delivery of pregnant women, we can improve the labor force of pregnant women so that they will not suffer too much pain during the delivery process, making the delivery process more complete. If nausea and vomiting are severe in the late pregnancy, it may affect your health. At this time, you need to consult a doctor and take effective measures.
