Reasons for a tight belly during pregnancy

Reasons for a tight belly during pregnancy

For most people, there will be no changes in the abdomen at the early stage of pregnancy. It is not until three months later that the abdomen will gradually expand. This is all normal. At this time, because the baby has developed more completely, the abdomen will feel hard. I feel my abdomen is tight when I am four months pregnant. What is the reason? Is there something wrong with the baby in my belly?

Reasons for feeling tightness in the abdomen during pregnancy

Expectant mothers may feel a tightening in their abdomen during pregnancy, which is also called "false labor" and is a relatively normal phenomenon. From 12 to 14 weeks of pregnancy, the uterus will contract irregularly and painlessly, and the abdomen may feel tight and hard when touched. The characteristics are that uterine contractions are infrequent, irregular and different. Their strength and frequency gradually increase with the progress of pregnancy until the end of pregnancy. This painless uterine contraction is called false labor.

After false labor occurs, you should stop what you are doing and rest in bed, and remember to sleep on your left side. If the uterus contractions are not very frequent and the pain is not very obvious, the symptoms can be alleviated by just paying attention to rest. While resting, pregnant women should always observe their health conditions. If they experience spotting during pregnancy, they should go to the hospital for treatment immediately.

What to pay attention to when you are four months pregnant

1. Pay attention to your diet

From the fourth month of pregnancy, the baby enters a rapid growth process, and you need more nutrition every day. First, you can increase the intake of regular meals, which can provide you with calories. You can choose rice and noodles, and then mix them with some coarse grains, such as millet, corn, oatmeal, etc.; secondly, you should also increase the intake of livestock products, which can provide you with protein foods; and also increase the intake of edible oils, which provide the body with essential oleic acid.

However, since the uterus entering the abdomen may squeeze the stomach, you may easily get bloated, so it is recommended to eat small meals frequently. At the same time, you should pay attention to the cooking method and cook reasonably. Also, pay attention to a comprehensive, diversified and nutritious diet, and don't be picky.

2. Daily medical care

Routine medical care is also a key part of the common problems in the fourth month of pregnancy. As the abdomen expands, it will cause a lot of trouble to daily life, so you must pay attention to taking care of your abdomen.

In terms of sleep quality, you can ensure 8-9 hours of sleep a day, preferably with a 30-minute nap, and it is best to sleep on your side. The clothing is mainly loose and soft clothes. Do not wear tight bras and clothes, hard-soled high heels and leather shoes. Your room should be well ventilated, and when using an electric fan, turn it to a level that blows air close to the room, and don't blow it towards you.

At this time, you must be cautious when using medications. It is best not to take medications, and you should also pay attention to your oral health. You can avoid doing rough work or standing or sitting for long periods of time to prevent varicose veins and hemorrhoids in the lower limbs. For skin care, you can use special skin care products for pregnant women, but it is not suitable for makeup, nail polish, and you cannot dye or perm your hair.

During the entire pregnancy, women must remain vigilant, because many factors may cause the fetus to stop growing. If the abnormality can be detected as early as possible, the fetus may still be saved. If the fetus can no longer be saved, the sooner the surgery is performed, the less harm to the woman's body. Therefore, every prenatal check-up during pregnancy must be done on time.
