Can women have gout?

We know that no matter who you are, once you are troubled by gout, it will cause great physical and mental harm to yourself. Therefore, you must choose the right way to deal with the gout problem. So, can women suffer from gout? What should women with gout pay attention to? Let’s take a look at the relevant content about female gout below. I hope that after reading this, everyone can better solve the problem of female gout.

First, do women get gout?

The reasons for increased blood uric acid conversion include: increased production of purine in blood, accelerated nucleotide conversion in the blood, and excessive intake of high-purine foods or high-purine food precursors. Clinically, gout can be divided into two categories: primary gout and secondary gout. If not treated in time, in addition to symptoms such as redness, swelling, heat, and severe pain in the joints that seriously affect work and life, the accumulation of uric acid in the kidneys will cause kidney damage. Long-term damage will cause renal insufficiency and uremia. Therefore, if women have the above problems, they will be more likely to be troubled by gout.

Second, common problems with gout diet for women

1. Limit the intake of purine. Patients should control their intake of high-purine foods, such as animal offal, seafood, bone broth, etc. for a long time.

2. Effectively provide protein, fat and carbohydrates. Because protein can combine with nucleotides to form nucleoprotein and finally dissolve into uric acid, the protein supply should be slightly lower, and soy protein should be the main component; human fat can reduce the normal excretion of uric acid in the blood and should be limited as much as possible. Glycogen has the effect of resisting ketosis and increasing the tendency of blood uric acid excretion, so it should be the main source of energy. However, glucose can promote the dissolution of nucleotides and increase the conversion of blood uric acid, so its intake should be reduced.

3. A certain amount of vitamins and minerals. Balance the supply and demand of alkaline foods such as vegetables, fruits and fresh fruits. Because alkaline foods can increase the solubility of blood urate, it is beneficial to the excretion of blood uric acid. In addition, vegetables and fruits contain vitamins C and B, which can promote the dissolution of urate accumulated in tissues and help relieve gout. Gout patients often suffer from high blood pressure and high blood lipids, so they should limit their salt intake to 2-5g per day.

4. Drink more water. The daily fluid intake should be more than 200-250L to promote the excretion of uric acid in the blood and prevent the formation of stones. You can drink water before going to bed or late at night to avoid urine extraction, but water intake should be minimized when renal function is impaired.

5. It is forbidden to use food containing irritants. Alcohol can increase the lactic acid bacteria in the body, inhibit the excretion of uric acid in the blood, and promote the dissolution of purine to increase uric acid, causing gout attacks, so it is not suitable to drink alcohol; drinking wine is prohibited; in addition, strong spices and condiments are also not suitable for consumption; cola nuts, freshly ground coffee, and tea can be consumed in small amounts. Prevent overeating or starving.

The above are the causes of gout and the diet for gout patients. If you hope to avoid the ravages of gout, you must eat less foods with high purine content in your daily life. Only by avoiding the intake of such foods can you maximize the prevention of high uric acid levels, and of course, you can also prevent the occurrence of gout problems.
