The doctor said not to eat leeks during pregnancy

The body of pregnant women is very sensitive to diet during pregnancy. Some foods are relatively hot and are bad for the health of pregnant women and fetuses. For example, amaranth is a very common food, but it should be eaten with caution during pregnancy. So why can't you eat leeks in early pregnancy? What foods should you eat in early pregnancy?

Why can't you eat leeks during early pregnancy?

Amaranth is rich in nutrients, containing rich cellulose and sulfate. Eating leeks can supplement the minerals needed by the human body and is beneficial to the growth and development of the embryo in early pregnancy. Therefore, pregnant women can eat leeks, but not too much. Because amaranth has the effect of promoting uterine contractions, pregnant women eating too much may increase the risk of miscarriage. In addition, amaranth is not easy to digest and absorb, so pregnant women are advised to eat less leeks, and it is best to take it together with other ingredients.

In fact, amaranth is very nutritious, containing 2-2.85 grams of protein, 0.2-0.5 grams of fat, 2.4-6 grams of carbohydrates, and 0.6-3.2 grams of cellulose per 100 grams of edible portion. It is rich in carotene, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, iron and other nutrients. It is a fresh dish for people to "taste spring" and is beneficial to the needs of early pregnant embryos and fetuses for vitamins and minerals.

In addition, the sulfate in amaranth can also help the body absorb vitamin B1 and vitamin A. Therefore, if amaranth is paired with pork foods rich in vitamin B1, it is a more nutritious way of eating. However, sulfate evaporates easily when heated, so when cooking amaranth, it needs to be stir-fried quickly over high heat. If it is heated too much, the amaranth will lose its flavor.

In addition, amaranth is rich in cellulose, with every 100 grams of amaranth containing 1.5 grams of cellulose, which is higher than onions and lettuce. It can promote intestinal motility and prevent the occurrence of colon cancer. It can also reduce the absorption of cholesterol and has the effect of preventing and treating arteriosclerosis, coronary heart disease and other diseases.

Modern science believes that it is not suitable for people with hyperactivity and fever symptoms. Amaranth contains more dietary fiber and is not easy to digest, so you can't eat too much amaranth at one time, otherwise a large amount of dietary fiber will irritate the intestinal cavity and often cause diarrhea.
