Women's waist-to-hip ratio calculation formula

Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) is the ratio of hip circumference to waist circumference. It is an important indicator for judging core obesity and has important practical significance for evaluating women's attractiveness. When men are looking for a partner in the short term, they give priority to a woman's appearance and have a more obvious preference for women with a low waist-to-hip ratio. In a series of cross-cultural communication studies, men of different ages found women with a waist-to-hip ratio of 0.7 to be the most attractive. So, how to calculate the waist-to-hip ratio of women?

Hip circumference (M62): The horizontal circumference through the center of the navel, or the geometric circumference between the lowest point of the ribs and the inner edge of the iliac crest, is measured with a tape measure at the end of breathing and before the start of breathing. Note: The former is greater than the latter, and the latter is what we usually call hip circumference, also known as waist circumference, which is similar to the minimum hip circumference. (2) Hip circumference: The horizontal circumference of the buttocks at the most prominent part, measured accurately with a tape measure.

Waist-to-hip ratio, which is the ratio of hip circumference to waist circumference, is one of the best ways to predict whether a person is obese and at risk of heart disease. It is more accurate than the BMI body mass index that is currently widely used. A large waist-to-hip ratio indicates that body fat is stored in the abdomen, which is a very dangerous signal.

How to calculate waist-to-hip ratio for women

Using a ruler, measure your hips, then your waist (make sure it's the widest part of your butt). Finally, divide your hip circumference by your waist circumference to get your waist-to-hip ratio. For example: If you are a woman, your hips are 38 inches and your waist is 46 inches, then your waist-to-hip ratio is 38/46, which is equivalent to 0.82. There is no conclusion yet on what the ideal minimum waist-to-hip ratio should be. However, the maximum value of the ideal waist-to-hip ratio has been determined by many experts. For women, the ideal waist-to-hip ratio is between 0.67 and 0.80.

The ideal waist-to-hip ratio for women is between 0.67 and 0.80. Sexy stars such as Monroe, Diana, Vivien Leigh, Audrey Hepburn, Demi Moore and Damon Crawford have always maintained a perfect waist-to-hip ratio of 0.7; for men, this ratio is roughly between 0.85 and 0.95.
