What tests should be done in early pregnancy

Almost everyone has a routine physical examination to check the general condition of their body so that if there is any problem with the body, they can receive timely and comprehensive treatment. In addition to routine physical examinations, pregnant women should also do some regular examinations to promptly understand the condition of the fetus in their belly. So, what new tests should be done in early pregnancy?

What new tests are needed in early pregnancy?

After 15-20 weeks of pregnancy, the doctor will recommend that the pregnant woman take a Down syndrome screening test. It is best for the pregnant woman to do this test as much as possible under the doctor's advice, as it can determine whether the baby in the belly has Down syndrome. The main purpose of this test is not only to determine whether the baby is Down syndrome, but also to rule out congenital defects. Therefore, this test is necessary for pregnant women during pregnancy, especially older mothers, as the probability of their fetuses suffering from Down syndrome is higher.

Women should undergo an ultrasound examination in the early stages of pregnancy, but at the same time, it should be noted that the frequency of ultrasound examinations should be controlled to about three times throughout the pregnancy, and the maximum number should not exceed 5 times. The main purpose of doing B-ultrasound is to better understand the growth and development of the fetus, and it can also promptly detect various congenital diseases of the fetus. In the late pregnancy, the examination items needed by pregnant women need to be checked once every half a month, and after 36 weeks of pregnancy, it is best to check once a week. At this time, the most important examination items are routine physical examination and fetal heartbeat monitoring. At 34 weeks of pregnancy, the mother needs to go to the hospital outpatient department to carry out fetal biophysical score prediction and analysis to measure umbilical artery blood flow.

Why do you need to check during pregnancy?

Prenatal check-up items: height, weight, blood pressure, general examination, gynecological examination; tests: routine blood test, blood type, urine test, liver function test, hepatitis B virus series, syphilis, HIV, reproductive system infection test (for those with symptoms and clinical symptoms), pregnancy and diabetes screening (after 24 weeks of pregnancy), Down syndrome serological screening (14-20 weeks of pregnancy); electrocardiogram examination. In the subsequent months of examination, weight, blood pressure, uterine height, and fetal abdominal circumference must be measured each time. Go for a fetal anomaly screening between the 20th and 24th weeks. A check of the fetal position and umbilical cord should be done once at 30 and 33 weeks of pregnancy, and another comprehensive check should be done before delivery. Do Down syndrome screening in the 15th week, and if the risk is high, also do amniocentesis.

Before delivery, the hospital will want your pre-pregnancy physical examination report, which includes routine blood test, routine urine test, five items of hepatitis B, toxoplasmosis, sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS, etc. It is okay to do it now, in short, it is a must before delivery. In the later stages of pregnancy, blood sugar and blood coagulation tests should be done again. If edema is severe, a urine test should be done. Other tests include regular prenatal check-ups, listening to fetal heart sounds, measuring uterine height, etc.
