Bleeding recurred one month after medical abortion

Bleeding recurred one month after medical abortion

Although medical abortion is simple and convenient, it also has a certain probability of failure and the chance of incomplete medical abortion. Therefore, when doing medical abortion, you must pay attention to the physical condition of the pregnant woman during the whole process and pay attention to whether the medical abortion is complete. What is the reason for repeated bleeding after a complete medical abortion?

Causes of repeated bleeding after medical abortion

Vaginal bleeding after medical abortion usually lasts for 3-5 days, and no more than 15 days. If the bleeding time is too long, the bleeding exceeds the normal menstrual volume, or is accompanied by significant abdominal pain, then consider the possibility of incomplete abortion, poor uterine contractions, or infection, and you should go to the hospital for physical examination and treatment immediately. This needs to be checked proactively to see if it may cause inflammation.

Medical abortion, also known as drug abortion, refers to the use of mifepristone tablets plus miso drugs taken orally to stop early pregnancy. It has been widely used in clinical medicine in recent years. In the early stages of pregnancy, abortion can be done without surgery, by injection or medication. The use of drugs to stop pregnancy is a new development in the past 20 years. The commonly used drugs at this stage are mifepristone tablets and misoprostol used in combination. The former causes the uterine decidua to become necrotic and the cervix to soften, while the latter causes uterine excitation and contraction, thereby promoting the expulsion of the test tube embryo.

Medical abortion is applicable to pregnancy within 49 days of cessation. It uses the medicine to reduce the progesterone level in the body, causing miscarriage. The medicine then causes the uterus to contract significantly, forcing the pregnancy tissue to be expelled from the body.

Medical abortion is a method of inducing the apoptosis of the decidua uteri, softening the cervix, and simultaneously contracting the uterus to expel the embryo from the body. During this process, the patient will experience abdominal pain due to uterine contractions, and this pain varies depending on the individual's tolerance level.
