How do you know if you are ovulating?

Ovulation is a normal physiological process for women. During ovulation, a woman's ovary will release an egg cell. At this time, if intercourse occurs, there is a high probability that the sperm will fuse with the egg cell to form a sperm-egg fertilization. Therefore, the ovulation period is the best time for couples to have sex during the pregnancy preparation period. So how can women determine whether they are in the ovulation period?

How to determine whether ovulation occurs

1. Ovulation symptoms: Ovulation symptoms often include decreased appetite, abundant energy, increased sexual desire, excessive vaginal discharge, increased body temperature, and ovulation pain. If ovulation does not occur, the above symptoms are less likely to occur.

2. Ovulation test strip test: The ovulation test strip predicts whether it is the ovulation period by testing the highest level of progesterone converted into growth hormone (LH). Ovulation occurs after a strong positive result. If the ovulation test paper is found to be strong positive, it means that ovulation will occur within 24 hours.

3. B-ultrasound monitoring of follicles: B-ultrasound can not only detect whether there are mature follicles in the uterus and ovaries on both sides, but also measure the size of mature follicles, the thickness of the uterine wall, etc. This method helps predict ovulation and guides pregnant couples to a certain extent.

4. Measurement of body temperature during ovulation: During ovulation, the egg breaks open and the body's estrogen levels drop sharply, causing the body temperature to drop. If the body temperature during the ovulation period shows a biphasic change, that is, a high temperature period appears after an ultra-low temperature period, and lasts for about 13-14 days, this indicates the ovulation period. On the other hand, if the temperature continues to be extremely low, it is likely that anovulation is caused by insufficient luteal function.

5. Endocrine examination: The peak of estrogen before ovulation prompts feedback regulation, and the conversion of progesterone into growth hormone reaches a peak value. Ovulation occurs about 36 hours after the peak, and during the ovulation period, the conversion of progesterone into growth hormone drops sharply. After ovulation, about one week before menarche, blood is drawn to check the female hormone level in the body.

6. Uterine wall puncture biopsy: Scrape the uterine wall 2-3 days before menarche and understand the function of the uterine wall based on the puncture biopsy. If there are metabolic changes in the endometrium, it indicates an ovulation period, and if there are proliferative changes, it indicates no ovulation period. In addition, it is also possible to check for other diseases such as endometrial tuberculosis and endometrial cancer.

If there is no ovulation for a long time, the following symptoms may occur, so pay special attention:

1. Menstrual disorders: The clinical symptoms of anovulation are generally a menstrual cycle of less than 21 days, or irregular vaginal bleeding, or infrequent menstruation or amenorrhea, all of which should consider the possibility of anovulation. The clinical symptoms of anovulatory infertility are changes in menstrual volume, menstrual blood color, and menstrual quality. The menstrual cycle is either advanced or delayed, or even amenorrhea, and infertility for many years.

2. A large stature and underdeveloped secondary sexual characteristics may be a sign of male sexual dysfunction caused by the nerve center. Increased hair growth all over the body may be due to excessive male hormone metabolism in the uterus, ovaries, or adrenaline. Milk discharge from the nipple may be due to excessive lactation growth hormone in the blood.

3. In addition, the cause and type of infertility can be differentiated based on medical history, gynecological examination, ovulation temperature, cervical mucus, vaginal exudate endocrine acid-fast staining, blood endocrine hormone measurements, as well as B-ultrasound, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and other examinations.
