Three major reasons for the failure of cyst culture

During the IVF process, the more complete the embryonic development process is, the greater the chance of success. In China, it usually takes about 3 days to transplant the embryo to prevent the embryo from staying outside the body for too long and becoming ineffective. However, the three-day cyst culture time cannot guarantee the perfection of the test tube embryo, which is one of the reasons why the success rate in China is low. Below is a detailed explanation of the three main reasons for the failure of cyst cultivation.

During the cyst culture process, test tube embryos sometimes encounter such a situation: the quality is still good on the third day, but the cyst culture is always unsuccessful. There are three major reasons for the failure of cyst culture, and you can start analyzing and considering these points.

01Quality of egg cells and male sperm

If a woman has a small number of eggs and the quality of test tube embryos is average, it is not recommended to culture the embryos. And if the quality of sperm and eggs is not good, the test tube embryos can easily stop growing. Cystic blastocyst culture has relatively high requirements on the quality of test tube embryos. For women with poor quality, it is very likely that the embryo culture stage will not be achieved, resulting in the complete destruction of the test tube embryos. For such women, it is generally recommended to transplant as soon as possible. Some test tube embryos cannot survive in the laboratory environment, but may survive in the uterus. After all, the uterus is the best survival and entry environment for test tube embryos.

02Natural environment of the laboratory

Molding embryos is not an easy task, and it places high demands on the laboratory. The amount of CO2 and temperature changes in the laboratory will affect the final results.

However, the implantation rate of embryos transferred from embryos is higher than that of normal test tube embryos because the embryos are of better quality and grow faster. For women whose physical condition is not suitable for multiple pregnancies, blastocyst transplantation can achieve a higher pregnancy rate and reduce the risk of multiple pregnancies.

03Technical expertise of IVF technicians

In the embryo cultivation room, the test tube embryo needs to maintain a constant temperature and humidity for 24 hours in the clean room. 18 large sperm and egg combination molders work all day, with a 24-hour timelapse system and staff monitoring. The temperature, humidity and co2N2 concentration are all subject to repeatedly reviewed standards. However, the standards of each hospital may be different. In fact, many small and medium-sized embryo cultivation in the initial stage may not even have strict standards.

During the observation operation, the test tube embryologist took out the culture medium for shaping the test tube embryos and placed it in a specially made operating box similar to a newborn trainer for operation. The operating box needs to strictly control the proportion of carbon dioxide and CO2 to create a high-quality natural environment that simulates the womb.

Embryo transfer is not suitable for everyone, and only 40-50% of test tube embryos can grow to the embryo stage. Cyst culture involves many details and is a very sophisticated technology, from personnel to laboratory hardware technology. The more high-tech the laboratory is, the more conducive it is to the shaping of embryos. Various fertility management centers are concerned about improving the level of their own laboratories to help patients obtain higher quality test tube transplants and higher pass rates.
