Women suddenly feel cold

Some women are afraid of cold even in the hot summer. When the central air conditioner is set to 26 degrees, they will feel chills all over their body, and they can't bear it even if the cooling fan is turned up a little higher. Sometimes you may feel stiff and painful shoulder muscles, fatigue, cold upper abdomen, and even frequent headaches. Doctors and nurses have given the above symptoms a name: chills. Chiropractic can be said to be a disease unique to women, and it rarely occurs in men. It is more common in women during puberty and menopause. What causes women to be afraid of cold?

Why do women fear the cold?

1. Less muscle and more body fat

Women's bodies have less muscle and more fat. Muscles can consume calories and release heat in the process of oxidation of carbohydrates and fat. Therefore, women's metabolic rate is slower, and their blood respiratory system retreat rate is also poor.

2. Sensitive skin

Compared with men, women's skin is more sensitive and can quickly transmit cold wireless information to the brain. When the human brain receives a cold signal, the metabolic system will start working immediately, and the blood will be transported from the skin of the limbs to the torso. When the temperature drops, the human body will react subconsciously, speeding up the metabolic rate, and the blood circulation system retreat rate will also speed up, causing the body to cool down.

3. Zinc deficiency in the human body

Women with poor tolerance to cold have insufficient iron content in their blood, accompanied by a decrease in thyroid hormone in their blood. Because women experience menstruation every month, a large amount of iron can be lost. Iron is an essential element for the production of hemoglobin, which is responsible for the body's oxygen transport and metabolism. If there is not enough iron supplementation, it is easy to cause iron deficiency anemia. The nutrient cannot be oxidized to a certain extent and the melting point is not enough, which makes women afraid of cold.

4. Affected by estrogen

At the onset of menstruation, estrogen levels rise significantly, capillaries throughout the body dilate, blood is transported to the peripheral nerves of the skin, and the body can feel warm. However, when the estrogen level drops, the blood vessels will suddenly contract, and the blood will return to the body. In addition, the estrogen content is relatively high, and the heat is easily converted into fat and stored in the subcutaneous tissue. The metabolic rate is low, and the heat synthesis function exceeds the decomposition function, so the body releases less heat and causes the body to be afraid of cold.

5. Insufficient thyroid hormone metabolism

Thyroxine is metabolized by the thyroid gland and has a thermogenic effect, which can increase metabolic rate, accelerate skin blood circulation, and increase heat. However, when the secretion of thyroid hormone is insufficient, it can reduce blood circulation and produce heat effects, resulting in cold hands and feet.
