Why does my period come once every two weeks?

Irregular menstruation is harmful to women's physical and mental health. The more common ones are too short menstrual cycle and too much menstrual flow. For example, some women will have menarche every ten days or so, and this situation will cause anemia in the long run. So, what is the reason why menstruation often occurs every ten days or so? Let’s take a detailed look at it.

Most menstrual periods that occur every ten days or so are ovulation bleeding. This kind of vaginal bleeding that looks like "menstrual period" is actually not the "menstrual period" in the true sense. It bleeds for a shorter time and the bleeding is relatively less. Normal menstruation for women should be once a month. If menstruation occurs once every ten days or so, it is considered an abnormal menstrual period. This condition is called frequent menstruation, and Chinese medicine calls it premature menstruation, which is the main manifestation of menstrual disorders.

Ovulation bleeding is actually a physiological phenomenon. At present, many opinions believe that this is related to the changes in estrogen levels during ovulation. When the growth hormone secreted by the pituitary gland reaches a certain level, it will induce the egg to gradually grow and develop. After the mature follicle ruptures, if the body's estrogen level drops sharply to a level that cannot maintain the regrowth of the uterine wall, it can cause necrosis and shedding of the uterine wall, leading to uterine hemorrhage. After ovulation, the progesterone produced by the egg metabolizes a certain amount of female hormones and estrogens, which can quickly repair the ruptured uterine wall and stop bleeding.

If you have frequent menstruation, you should consider the possibility of multifunctional diseases or organic reasons, so you need to conduct relevant examinations. Estrogen testing at the time of menarche can accurately determine whether this condition is caused by endocrine imbalance.

B-ultrasound examination is also needed to rule out organic causes. Through examination, it can be determined whether there are organic diseases such as uterine intrauterine polyps, uterine subserosal fibroids, and endometritis.

If it is diagnosed that frequent menstruation is caused by endocrine imbalance, menstruation regulation treatment can be carried out by taking targeted Chinese herbal medicines or combining Chinese and Western medicines. If the menstrual disorders are caused by organic factors, such as severe uterine polyps or uterine subserosal fibroids, they can be treated surgically.
